Lippard has developed new work and directed across the country at theaters such as Eugene O’Neill Theatre Center\, Woolly Mammoth Theatre Company\, Alliance Theater\, Round House Theatre\, Cleveland Play House\, Steppenwolf Theatre Company\, American Theater Company\, Magic Theatre\, The Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts\, Theater J\, Kitchen Dog\, Eaton Workshop\, Dobama Theater\, foolsFURY Theater\, Z Space\, Solas Nua\, and Virginia Stage Company among others. \nRecently\, she collaborated and trained throughout Japan\, India and Greece on a premiere adaptation of Oedipus by Ellen McLaughlin which performed at ancient sites across Greece. Her site specific work has been noted in The New York Times (The Smuggler with Solas Nua) and her work was adapted to film which premiered in NYC’s 1st Irish Festival (In the Middle of the Fields – US premiere). \nLippard was the co-founder and co-executive producer of The Chicago Home Theater Festival\, a five-year city-wide artistic network and annual event that organized artists and neighbors to celebrate local culture\, share a communal meal\, experience diverse art forms in alternative spaces\, and build intentional community across lines of difference. \nOther producing work includes Z/Magic Mondays at Magic Theatre as Artistic Associate\, with The Welders as Interim Creative Producer\, and as the Cleveland Play House inaugural Artistic Directing Fellow. She has artistically collaborated with HowlRound and the American Voices New Play Institute at Arena Stage\, Guthrie Theater\, Intersection for the Arts\, American Conservatory Theater\, Court Theatre\, Syracuse Stage\, and TheatreWorks. Lippard has taught\, workshopped\, and/or directed at Stanford University\, Northwestern University\, Kenyon College\, Hampshire College\, Carnegie Mellon University\, and Case Western Reserve MFA Acting program. One simple mistake is made-an invitation is misplaced-and the wrath of the vicious Scarella falls upon the poor infant in the form of a spell. \nSleeping Beauty is now destined to sleep for eternity if she should prick her finger on a spindle before she reaches her sixteenth birthday. Sleeping Beauty’s Fairy Godmothers do their best to amend the spell\, but Scarella\, with the help of some nasty Trolls\, tricks Sleeping Beauty into pricking her finger and the spell takes effect. \nFive hundred years pass and Sleeping Beauty wakes to find herself in a Rock ‘n Roll dream! Also featured in this production are the King and the Queen\, Spot\, the Fairies\, the Palace Attendants and the Caterpillars. SLEEPING BEAUTY-a Rock ‘n Roll Fable for the ages. Beauty Lou is the oldest daughter of the bronc-bustin’ balladeer Buck. At the local county fair\, young Beauty Lou is upset by the ungrateful behavior of a miner who has won the blue ribbon for his beautiful roses. She calls him a beast and wishes that he would look like one too. Years later\, when in danger of losing the family farm\, Buck meets the miner-turned-beast. Beauty Lou agrees to befriend the Beast to save her family. Beauty Lou and the Beast both learn to look beyond appearances and first impressions and to see the beauty that dwells inside. A “show within a show\,” the play portrays nearly every cast member in two different roles: as an actor in a traveling vaudevillian theatre troupe\, and a character performing a musical production of William Shakespeare’s The Taming of the Shrew.  \nIn Kiss Me\, Kate\, egotistical director and producer Fred Graham plays Petruchio opposite his movie-star ex-wife\, Lilli Vanessi\, who is playing Katherine. Their constant arguments include the fact that Fred is pursuing Lois Lane\, a younger actress playing Bianca. After the troupe rehearses for the evening’s opening show\, we meet Bill\, Lois’s boyfriend who plays Lucentio. He missed the rehearsal to gamble away a large sum of money. It’s a swirling sandstorm of famous Arabian Tales from Ali Baba to Scheherazade\, and even Sinbad the Sailor\, as Aladdin journeys to find a magic lamp in a Cave of (not-so-great) Wonders. Along his way Aladdin seeks answers and advice from wise Genies\, a powerful Sultan\, and his own Mother to find a way to meet the Princess. However\, even with the lamp in hand\, Aladdin will have to learn that it takes more than a wish to make a good impression. Full of memorable characters\, from lost Penguins to talking Palm Trees\, this is an adventure worthy of 1\,001 laughs. \nThe Missoula Children’s Theatre is a non-profit organization based in Missoula\, Montana. This coming year more than 65\,000 cast members across the globe will take to the stage to the delight and applause of their families\, friends\, community\, neighbors and teachers!

Annie is a Broadway musical based upon the popular Harold Gray comic strip Little Orphan Annie\, with music by Charles Strouse\, lyrics by Martin Charnin\, and book by Thomas Meehan. This family-friendly 1977 Tony Award-winner for Best Musical is based on Harold Gray’s popular comic strip “Little Orphan Annie\,” which he started in the 1920s.  Little orphan Annie is taken from her orphanage\, and the clutches of evil Miss Hannigan\, to stay at billionaire Oliver Warbuck’s mansion for the holidays. When Annie wins the hearts of Warbucks and his staff\, they set out on an epic mission to find Annie’s parents. Meanwhile\, Miss Hannigan\, in partnership with her brother Rooster and his girlfriend Lily\, attempt to make some money out of this unique situation. The stories become intertwined as the lovable Annie’s story hits the national spotlight.

DESCRIPTION:June 29\, July 1\, 2\, 7\, 8 & 9 with all shows starting at 8:30 p.m. in Muskingum Park. \nFollow Shakespeare by the River on Facebook. \nJoin us for the fourth annual Shakespeare By The River Festival\, presenting The Merchant of Venice in Marietta’s Muskingum Park this June and July. \nAs always\, this exciting open-air theatrical event is FREE and open to the public. \nThe Merchant of Venice written between 1596 and 1598 is Shakespeare’s comedy centred around love\, money\, prejudice and social injustice. \nSYNOPSIS \nAntonio\, the Merchant of Venice\, lends three thousand ducats to his friend Bassanio in order to assist him in his wooing of the wealthy and beautiful Portia of Belmont\, an estate some distance from Venice. \nAntonio’s own money is tied up in business ventures that depend on the safe return of his ships from sea\, so he borrows the money from Shylock\, a Jewish moneylender whom he has previously insulted for his high rates of interest. \nShylock lends the money against a bond. Failure to repay the loan on the agreed date will entitle Shylock to a pound of Antonio’s flesh. \nPORTIA’S SUITORS \nPortia’s father has decreed that she will marry whichever suitor makes the correct choice when presented with three caskets\, made of gold\, silver and lead. \nWhere wealthy suitors from Morocco and Aragon fail\, Bassanio succeeds by choosing lead. His friend Gratiano marries Portia’s lady-in-waiting Nerissa at the same time. \nNews arrives that Antonio’s ships have been lost; he is unable to pay his debt. \nA TRIAL \nShylock’s claim to his pound of flesh is heard in the law court before the duke.\nUnknown to their husbands\, Portia disguises herself as a young male lawyer acting on behalf of Antonio\, Nerissa as a clerk. \nPortia argues that Shylock is entitled to his pound of flesh but not to spill any of Antonio’s blood. \nShe also says that the Jew should forfeit his life for having conspired against the life of a Venetian. \nDon’t read any more if you don’t want to know the ending! \nThe duke pardons Shylock on condition that he gives half his wealth to Antonio and half to the state. \nAntonio surrenders his claim on condition that Shylock converts to Christianity and leaves his property to his daughter Jessica\, whom he has disinherited for running away with her Christian lover\, Lorenzo. \nPortia and Nerissa then assert their power over Bassanio and Gratiano through a trick involving rings that the men have promised never to part with. \nFinally\, there is good news about Antonio’s ships.

Much like in our world\, the aluminum universe is also plagued by a fight between good and evil\, where the forces of beauty and compassion strive to triumph over the forces of intrigue and fear. \nThe new show was written and directed by Lior Kalfo\, creator of the internationally successful shows “Voca People\,” “Fantasy\,” and “Glow\,” with choreography by Ido Tadmor\, one of Israel’s foremost choreographers\, and under the artistic direction of Ilan Azriel\, co-creator of the international Aluminum Show. \nThe show is suitable for all ages.

Performances are scheduled for Saturday\, July 23 at 3 p.m. and 5:30. \nGeppetto fashioned the puppet in the image of a small boy. Even as the lonely and kind woodcarver worked far into the night\, old Geppetto was not aware that the wood under the chisel had come from the trunk of an enchanted tree. But the Blue Fairy was aware\, as she watched from afar and gave to that puppet the gift of life. Thus begins the Missoula Children’s Theatre adaptation of one of the most beloved of all children’s stories–PINOCCHIO. Join our wooden-head as he dances with Geppetto’s charming toys\, travels the road to Pleasure Isle with Candlewick and his Crew\, and is swindled by the unsavory Fox and Cat. After escaping the clutches of the evil puppetmaster\, Stromboli\, Pinocchio finds himself in trouble once more–this time swallowed by a monstrous whale. Very scary stuff! As Geppetto and the friendly Urchins spin their magical tale\, we learn with Pinocchio that there are no shortcuts on the road to becoming a real\, live boy. \nAuditions for Pinocchio will be Monday\, July 18 from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Students entering 1st grade through 12th grade are encouraged to audition. Approximately 50-60 local students will be cast to appear in the show. (Please note: There is no guarantee that everyone who auditions will be cast in the play.) Students wishing to audition must arrive by the scheduled starting time and stay for the entire two-hour session. The first rehearsal begins approximately 15-30 minutes after the audition. \nDue to time constraints\, late-comers and anyone missing the initial audition may not be considered in the casting of the show. \nMost students in the production will rehearse daily 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.\, Tuesday through Friday. Although not all cast members will be needed at every session\, those auditioning must have a clear schedule for the entire week and if selected\, be able to attend all rehearsals required for their role. A detailed rehearsal schedule will be distributed at the conclusion of the audition. Cast members scheduled for the full 4½ hours of rehearsal will be asked to bring a sack lunch or snack. \nThe Missoula Children’s Theatre is a non-profit organization based in Missoula\, Montana. This coming year more than 65\,000 cast members across the globe will take to the stage to the delight and applause of their families\, friends\, community\, neighbors and teachers! \nNo preparation or prior experience is necessary for the audition.
