The group now includes Jeff Hanna (acoustic guitar\, electric guitar)\, Jimmie Fadden (drums\, harmonica)\, Bob Carpenter (keyboards)\, Jim Photoglo (bass\, acoustic guitar)\, Ross Holmes (fiddle\, mandolin)\, and Jaime Hanna (electric and acoustic guitar). All six members also sing\, and when their voices merge\, the harmonies add a powerful new component for the legendary band. And with the father-son pairing of Jeff and Jaime Hanna\, the band carries on a country music tradition of blood harmony. \nJeff Hanna says\, “It’s like when you throw a couple of puppies into a pen with a bunch of old dogs. All of a sudden\, the old dogs start playing\, you know? That’s kind of what’s happened with us. The basic vibe is so up and positive\, and the music– we’re hearing surprises from Jaime and Ross all night. And they’re encouraging us in the same way to take more chances. It’s opened a lot of doors for us\, musically\, and the morale is really great. That’s important for a band that’s been out there for over 53 years.” \nThe Nitty Gritty Dirt Band played their first gig in 1966 in Southern California as a jug band and by 1969 had become a cornerstone of the burgeoning country-rock community. Their career breakthrough came in 1970 with the release of the record Uncle Charlie & His Dog Teddy and the single “Mr. Bojangles\,” a folksy Top 10 pop hit that remains a staple of their live show. During a tour stop in Nashville around that time\, Earl Scruggs and his family came backstage to say hello. That introduction led to a friendship and some of the connections the band needed to record Will the Circle Be Unbroken. That three-disc album brought Nitty Gritty Dirt Band together with a number of country\, folk\, and bluegrass legends. Heroes like Roy Acuff\, Mother Maybelle Carter\, Jimmy Martin\, Merle Travis\, and Doc Watson joined the scruffy\, young band to record country music standards such as “I Saw the Light” and “Keep on the Sunnyside.” The acclaimed project is considered a landmark recording in American music. \nNitty Gritty Dirt Band earned a pop resurgence in 1980 with “An American Dream” and “Make a Little Magic.” Those singles also found traction on the country chart\, setting the stage for a major run at country radio. The band secured 16 Top 10 country hits between 1983 and 1990\, including three No. 1 singles: “Long Hard Road (The Sharecropper’s Dream)\,” “Modern Day Romance\,” and “Fishin’ in the Dark.” Bernie Leadon\, a founding member of The Eagles\, played in the band from 1986 to 1988 filling a vacancy by longtime member John McEuen. \nWith so much material to work with\, the band is making it a point to shuffle the set lists more often\, meaning that this isn’t the same Dirt Band show from years past. “We’re fortunate that we’ve got a deep songbook. That’s been on our list\, to resurrect some of the tunes we haven’t done in a while\, in addition to some new stuff\,” Hanna says. \nAt the peak of their country career\, the band toured Europe with Johnny Cash and June Carter Cash\, who hinted that they’d love to appear on a sequel to Will the Circle Be Unbroken\, if the band ever decided to make one. That gesture convinced the band to get back in the studio to record another all-star album. Circle Volume II featured Johnny and June\, as well as Rosanne Cash\, Emmylou Harris\, Levon Helm\, John Hiatt\, Bruce Hornsby\, John Denver\, Ricky Skaggs\, New Grass Revival\, and many other marquee names – not to mention encore performances by Roy Acuff\, Jimmy Martin\, and Earl Scruggs. Released in 1989\, the album won three Grammys and a CMA Award for Album of the Year. \nAs the country music landscape shifted toward a youth market\, the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band kept on touring and recording. They played on two projects by The Chieftains\, cut a song with Karla Bonoff for an album dedicated to the 1996 Olympics\, and contributed “Maybe Baby” to a Buddy Holly tribute\, Not Fade Away. Another collaborative album\, Will the Circle Be Unbroken\, Volume III\, arrived in 2003. Soon after\, the band earned an additional Grammy for “Earl’s Breakdown\,” which they recorded with Earl Scruggs\, Randy Scruggs\, Vassar Clements and Jerry Douglas. Meanwhile\, both “Mr. Bojangles” and Will the Circle Be Unbroken were inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame. \nThe Nitty Gritty Dirt Band took a moment to acknowledge their incredible history by filming a 50th anniversary concert event at the Ryman Auditorium in Nashville. Guests for that Circlin’ Back special included early Dirt Band member Jackson Browne\, Sam Bush\, Rodney Crowell\, Vince Gill\, Alison Krauss\, John Prine\, Jerry Douglas\, Byron House\, Jerry Jeff Walker\, and longtime Dirt Band member Jimmy Ibbotson. The concert aired as a nation-wide PBS Pledge special in 2016 and won a regional Emmy for Special Event Coverage. Today\, the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band consists of Jeff Hanna\, Jimmie Fadden\, Bob Carpenter\, for years known as “the new guy\,” and Jim Photoglo\, a friend of the band whose credits include cowriting “Fishin’ in the Dark”\, as well as touring and recording with Carole King\, Dan Fogelberg\, and Vince Gill. Newest members Jaime Hanna and Ross Holmes also bring years of experience to the band. Hanna toured and recorded with The Mavericks and Gary Allan\, while Holmes toured and recorded with Mumford & Sons and Bruce Hornsby. \n“The energy these days is so up — and our fans have responded in a really great way\,” Hanna says. “As a fan of other bands\, I know how complicated it can be when members come and go. You can either embrace that or you don’t. Our fans are really gracious and I appreciate that. It’s been a really good run and there’s a lot of daylight ahead of us.” \n  \nMegan Bee\nSinger-songwriter Megan Bee writes with an unquenchable wanderlust and a deep love for the land. Her fourth studio album “Cottonwood” has been called “as real as it gets – a raw and real telling of engaging\, relatable stories.” Based in Athens\, Ohio and frequently roaming the country\, her music is influenced by the collision of Appalachian folk and modern songwriting. She is a blend of distinctly homespun vocals\, acoustic simplicity\, yearning soulfulness\, and winsome storytelling. DESCRIPTION:The Eagles founding member\, the late Glenn Frey\, knew what he was saying when he dubbed Little River Band “the best singing band in the world.” The current lineup of LRB takes that accolade to heart each and every time they perform. \nThrough the ‘70’s and ‘80’s\, LRB enjoyed huge chart success with multi-platinum albums and chart topping hits like: \n\n“Reminiscing\,” “Cool Change\,” “Lonesome Loser\,” “The Night Owls\,” “Take It Easy On Me\,” “Help Is on Its Way\,” “Happy Anniversary\,”  “We Two\,” “Man On Your Mind\,” “The Other Guy\,” and “It’s A Long Way There.” \nWorldwide album and CD sales now top 30 million. And in 1982 LRB set a record for having had Top 10 hits for 6 consecutive years – In fact\, they were the very first band to achieve that remarkable plateau! According to BMI\, “Reminiscing” has garnered rare status with over 5 million air plays on American radio\, and “Lady” is close behind with over 4 million air plays. \nBassist/vocalist Wayne Nelson joined the band in 1980\, and worked alongside founding members with some of the most distinctive harmonies and vocal abilities\, creating the unique LRB sound. In 1981\, Nelson was recognized by world renowned Beatles producer Sir George Martin whom\, while producing ‘Time Exposure’\, chose Nelson to record lead vocals on two of the band’s biggest hits\, “The Night Owls” and “Take It Easy On Me.” Later that same year\, guitarist extraordinaire Stephen Housden joined LRB bringing a rock element into the band’s sound and helped contribute to their string of Top 10 hits. As band members departed one by one\, Housden and Nelson worked together to bring LRB into the new millennium.    \nTo date\, Nelson’s vocal and bass guitar talents are included on 23 Little River Band Albums/CD’s.  Although Housden has retired from touring\, LRB continues to perform to sold out audiences\, and Stephen continues to write and participate in all things Little River Band.  \nIn 2004 LRB was inducted into the Australian Recording Industry Association Hall of Fame at the 18th Annual ARIA Music Awards. And in September 2015\, the band was awarded Casino Entertainer of the Year at the G2E Gaming Expo in Las Vegas Nevada.  \nTurning the page brings us to the current lineup of Little River Band…  \nKeyboardist Chris Marion is a Dove Award winning producer. Chris is the creator of all the orchestral arrangements and charts on The Big Box. It is amazing to watch him play\, sing\, and conduct from his riser!  \nLead Guitarist Rich Herring is a highly skilled player\, singer\, and producer of many Nashville artists…not to mention a great songwriter. He and Wayne have co-produced every LRB project since he joined the band.  \nDrummer Ryan Ricks has locked down the rhythm section\, and rounds out the vocals with his incredible range. Great singing drummers are rare…and LRB is lucky to have Ryan as part of that all-important vocal blend.  \nNashville Guitarist Colin Whinnery plays rhythm and lead guitar\, and shares lead vocal duties with Wayne. He brings a brand new voice and a fresh outlook to the rhythm section.  \nEarly 2014 saw the release of Little River Band’s\, ‘Cuts Like a Diamond\,’ on Frontiers Records.  “What If You’re Wrong\,” went to #1 and stayed there for 3 weeks says Jim Shoe of CLASSX Radio.  “Forever You\, Forever Me\,” and “You Dream\, I’ll Drive\,” both climbed into the station’s TOP 3.   \nIn November of 2016\, LRB released\, ‘The Hits…Revisited\,’ on Wurld Records –  a CD consisting of 9 re-recorded hits along with 2 new songs\, written by Wayne\, Chris\, and Rich.   Kris Kristofferson attended one of their concerts in California. He came backstage after the concert and he told LRB that their harmonies are “better than the Beatles.”  \nMay of 2017 brought the release of ‘The Big Box’ –  a box set consisting of 6 disc’s and featuring a DVD with live footage from their 40th Anniversary Tour. \nIn 2020\, lead singer and bass player Wayne Nelson celebrated a personal and professional milestone of being a member of Little River Band for 40 years. That makes Wayne Nelson the longest standing member in the history of LRB. In partnership with Time Life\, the band released a “Live” orchestral accompanied CD of the hits called “Black Tie.” This masterpiece of audio golden nuggets continues to thrill and sooth today. \nIn 2021\, the CD Fan Favorites was released to the fans after they voted on their favorite songs from albums released since the year 2000. DESCRIPTION:Special co-production with the Washington County Foster Families Foundation\nFeaturing special opening guest: Jake Binegar\nCollin Raye has always been a great storyteller and he’s built a multi-platinum career bringing interesting characters to life. Who can forget the struggling alcoholic in “Little Rock” or the devoted couple celebrated in “Love\, Me?” On his new album Scars\, Raye is once again wrapping his distinctive voice around a compelling collection of tunes\, but this time in addition to writing nearly every song on the 14-track set\, Raye has also embarked on a new musical direction and has enlisted Miranda Lambert\, Vince Gill and the Black Keys Dan Auerbach to join the journey. \n“I’d thought about doing an Americana record for years because\, to me\, Americana means no rules\,” Raye says. “Americana is kind of country\, kind of bluegrass\, kind of folk\, kind of R&B. I thought how fun would that be to make a record knowing that cut number one can sound totally different than cut number two and cut number three\, number four\, etc. And that’s exactly what I set out to do.” \nWorking with producer David “Fergie” Ferguson (Johnny Cash\, John Prine\, Sturgill Simpson)\, Scars is Raye’s first album of all-new music in over a decade. It’s a bold musical manifesto that sees the veteran hitmaker delivering an eclectic set filled with memorable stories and engaging melodic textures. “Fergie and I talked about it and I said\, ‘I want it to be just really different. I want there to be songs on there that sound like Collin Raye and what you might expect\, but I want there to be stuff that no one would expect as well\,’” Raye says.  “The more we talked about it\, he said\, ‘I really don’t want to cut anything that you didn’t write.’ And I was like\, ‘Wow! Really?’” \nAs a result\, Raye wrote or co-wrote 12 of the 14 tracks on Scars. There are only two outside cuts and they came from the pen of his brother Scotty Wray (the original spelling of the family surname).  “Most of the stuff I wrote was new\, written just for this record\, and for that reason\, I’m extremely proud of it because it’s very personal to me\,” says the 10-time Male Vocalist of the Year nominee (ACM and CMA). “Instead of just being the singer of someone else’s words\, I’m the singer of my own words. I’ve always liked writing\, but I was never prolific. I was never one of those guys who wrote two or three times a week.  If you look at my Sony albums\, I would always have one or two cuts on there\, but I never wrote half or more of an album so this was a definite turn for me. I had to really work for this\, roll my sleeves up and prove to myself that I’m a good writer. I’m really happy with it. This was such a fun record to make and I’ve never felt so creative on any album.” \nThat is saying a lot\, considering Raye has already amassed an impressive body of work. Since signing with Epic Records in 1990\, Raye has placed more than 30 singles on the chart\, including such No. 1 hits as “Love\, Me\, “In This Life\,” “My Kind of Girl” and “I Can Still Feel You.” His debut album\, All I Can Be\, was the first of four consecutive albums released by Raye to achieve platinum certification in the United States\, signifying sales of one million copies each. “Little Red Rodeo\,” “That’s My Story\,” “I Think About You\,” “One Boy\, One Girl” and “Not That Different” are among the hits that have kept him busy on the road. \nProceeds from this concert will benefit Washington County foster children and foster parents.\n“Our vision for this benefit concert is to assist foster parents by providing funding to be used for normal childhood activities not covered by county funds\, in hopes of enhancing these children’s lives.” \n“Foster/adoptive caregivers are concerned individuals who are dedicated to providing the needs of Washington County’s children whose lives have been disrupted due to abuse and neglect. They offer food\, housing\, guidance\, acceptance\, understanding\, and support for children who are unable to stay with their families. Without these committed individuals\, abused and neglected children would not have a safe place to call home.” \n  \nJake Binegar\nJake Binegar is a country music artist from Southeastern Ohio. His music is a mix of Appalachian mountain music with a touch of that Nashville twang. He started playing guitar at the age of 13 and leading country bands at the age of 18. DESCRIPTION:Best of the Eagles (BOTE) was established in 2012 by guitarist/vocalist Joe Vadala and a group of professional New Jersey musicians who individually have an auspicious pedigree\, are passionate about their love of the Eagles music and who have all worked with numerous national touring artists. \nBest of the Eagles (BOTE) is the most exact interpretation of the music of the Eagles in America\, bar none! Each member mirrors his counterpart in the Eagles instrumentally and vocally. However\, this is no simple copy band or impersonator act but rather a group of excellent musicians who expertly and authentically re-create the songs\, the music\, the vocals and the magical aura of one of America’s greatest rock bands. Behind the string of hit records\, the roomful of awards\, and the critical and fan accolades that have defined his phenomenal success lies a connection that goes beyond his undeniable talent and his proven knack for picking hits. Since the days when “Life’s A Dance” turned him from an unknown artist into a national star\, John Michael’s rich baritone has carried that most important of assets: believability. Few artists in any genre sing with more heart than this handsome Kentucky-born artist. \nIt is readily apparent in love songs that have helped set the standard for a generation. Songs like “I Swear\,” “I Love the Way You Love Me” and “I Can Love You Like That” still resonate across the landscape: Pop icon and country newcomer Jessica Simpson cited “I Love The Way You Love Me” as an influence in a recent interview. It is apparent in the 2004 hit “Letters From Home\,” one of the most moving tributes to the connection between soldiers and their families ever recorded\, and in “The Little Girl\,” a tale of redemption that plumbs both the harrowing and the uplifting. It is apparent even in the pure fun that has always found its way into John Michael’s repertoire: songs like “Be My Baby Tonight” and “Sold (The Grundy County Auction Incident)\,” where John Michael’s vocal earnestness takes musical whimsy to another level. \nJohn Michael’s origins lie in deceptively modest beginnings. He was born in Danville\, Kentucky\, to parents who imparted a lifelong love of music. “Where most people have chairs and sofas in their living rooms\,” laughs John Michael\, “we had amplifiers and drum kits.” \nThe family band played on weekends throughout the area\, and John Michael and his brother Eddie eagerly soaked up everything about it. \n“To a certain extent\,” he says\, “my dad always had a natural ability to draw fans and entertain people; I don’t care if it was on the front porch\, the living room\, or on a stage. I think that transitioned to me and my brother being able to do that on stage.” John Michael took over lead singing chores after his parents divorced\, and he performed for a while in a band called Early Tymz with Eddie and their friend Troy Gentry. Nashville talent scouts began hearing about and then seeing John Michael perform and by the early ’90s he had a record deal. \nThe hits followed steadily\, with songs like “Rope The Moon\,” “If You’ve Got Love\,” “No Man’s Land\,” “Cowboy Love\,” “As Long As I Live\,” “Friends” and “How Was I To Know” establishing him as one of the elite acts of the era. He received the CMA Horizon award and was named the ACM’s Top New Vocalist\, setting off a long series of awards that included the CMA’s Single and Song of the Year\, Billboard’s Top Country Artist\, and a Grammy nomination. Heavy touring meant he kept the close touch with fans he had begun in the clubs back home. \n“You get to know your fans and what they like more and more through the years\,” he says\, “and you kind of gravitate towards one another.” \nIndeed\, he has always had an extraordinarily close relationship with his fans\, and they have stayed with him through good and bad times. \nAsked what he thinks gave him the edge in a career that calls millions but gives stardom to just a few\, he pauses\, then thinks back to the legacy of his parents. \n“I reckon it was good genes and good blood\,” he says with a smile. Few who know the depth and breadth of his own growing legacy would disagree. \nEric Gnezda\nEric Gnezda (NEZZ-da) is an award-winning singer-songwriter and the creator and host of the PBS series\, Songs at the Center\, which airs on over 400 stations across the U.S. He writes a wide range of songs\, both serious and humorous. A native Ohioan\, Eric is a recipient of the Ohioana Citation for Music Composition and has performed more than 40 times at Nashville’s iconic venue for songwriters\, The Bluebird Cafe. \nWe are pleased to welcome Eric back to the Peoples Bank Theatre\, where he shot his PBS series with area songwriters a couple years ago. Eric and his musical works have been featured on such broad media as ESPN\, Entertainment Tonight\, and NPR’s All Things Considered and Car Talk. That means indie rock band Red Wanting Blue is rare indeed. A quarter-century of steady artistic grow this virtually unheard of in the volatile world of rock music\, whether it’s an underground band struggling to find the key to success or a multi-million-selling supergroup buckling from the excesses of fame. \nRed Wanting Blue\, formed in 1996 in Athens\, Ohio\, is composed of Scott Terry on lead vocals\, tenor guitar\, and ukulele; Mark McCullough on bass\, chapman stick\, and vocals; Greg Rahm on guitar\, keyboards\, and vocals; Eric Hall on guitar\, lap steel\, and vocals; and Dean Anshutz on drums and percussion. DESCRIPTION:Featuring special guest vocalist Meredith Dean Augustin\n2015 West Virginia Music Hall inductee Bob Thompson is perhaps the state’s best-loved musician and ambassador of jazz. He has touched many people’s lives both as an internationally known entertainer and a teacher. \nGrowing up in NY\, he sang in street corner doo-wop bands and originally attended WVSC on a scholarship to study trumpet and music education. After switching to piano\, he quickly became a staple on the local scene with bands like the Modern Jazz Interpreters and Joi. \nAfter some independent releases\, he signed to Capitol Records subsidiary Intima and later to the Ichiban label. Two of his albums climbed into the Top 25 in Billboard’s contemporary jazz chart while four of his releases made their way into the Top 10 on the Radio and Records jazz chart. Those nationally released works furthered his reputation significantly. \nIn the meantime\, he performed in Brazil\, South Africa and Scandinavia. Appearances on BET\, as the house pianist on the NPR show Mountain Stage\, and several tours abroad have made Thompson a visible presence in the jazz world for more than 40 years. In addition\, for the past two decades Thompson’s annual holiday jazz show Joy to the World has become a regular feature of Public Radio International’s holiday programming. \n \nMeredith Dean Augustin\n“When she sings\, I feel close to God!” These words have been used to describe listening to Meredith. Love flows through her–and her voice touches hearts. A West Virginia girl\, who grew up in Morgantown\, Meredith began playing the piano and singing at a very young age. She describes\, “My mom taught piano lessons while I was in her womb. I think it started there. When I was two\, my mom and dad told me it was time to give up my pacifier\, and I could sing myself to sleep…. I haven’t stopped.” \nAfter completing her Masters of Science degree in Rehabilitation Counseling from West Virginia University\, Meredith’s musical activities began leading her to New York City\, where she eventually made her home. Currently\, she is the Director of Music at the Church of St. Francis of Assisi in midtown Manhattan. Meredith reflects\, “In the last15years\, my job has allowed me to come face to face with so many beautiful people from so many beautiful cultures. It certainly has helped me evolve personally\, as well as musically.” \nA rare artist who appeals to fans of all genres–particularly jazz/world/Christian–Meredith has been blessed to collaborate with musicians from all over the world\, in particular\, Haiti. She has collaborated with many liturgical composers and is featured on records with John Angotti\, Tom Kendiza\, and Chris DeSilva to name a few. Meredith also has released four solo records entitled: What’s Goin’ On\, Deep River\, Come and Go With Me\, and Boundless Mercy. When she is no ton the road presenting workshops and concerts at conferences throughout the country\, Meredith can be found performing quarterly shows in New York City\, selling out jazz clubs such as Club Bonafide\, Gin Fizz\, and the Triad Theatre\, to name a few. In the jazz world she has performed with Etienne Stadwijk\, John Benitez\, Dave Kikoski\, Axel Tosca and many others. DESCRIPTION:This free\, DORA-friendly event will be held on Putnam Street in front of Peoples Bank Theatre. \nThe Sour Mash String Band is an Americana Bluegrass band that started in 2015 when surveyor and musician/songwriter Josh Moody (guitar) met up with former WVU football player and musician/songwriter Cody Nutter. They started playing at local venues and open mics. When they were asked to provide a band for a gig\, they called on some musician friends and the chemistry and tunes started flowing effortlessly. It wasn’t long until they were playing all along the WV and Ohio border towns\, bringing their own flavor of bluegrass music everywhere they go. Playing everything from high-energy foot-stomping songs to soulful\, laid-back bluesy numbers\, the Sour Mash String Band brings a unique sound and flavor to their performances. The band is based in the Mid-Ohio Valley with members from various cities up to 2 hours away. \n They have played a variety of fairs\, festivals and venues including  the John Hartford Festival in Indiana \, Millennium Music Conference and Showcase in Harrisburg Pa (where one of their songs was chosen to showcase on the conference CD)\,and Nashville TN where they were interviewed and featured on the Nashville Side Streets Show. Some others are the Sam Jam Preview\, Rudy Fest\, Poston Lake Bluegrass Festival\, The Penny Royal\, and various others in Indiana\, Ohio\, Kentucky\, WV\, and Tennessee. \nThey released their first album “Down the Highway” in May 2016\, recorded at Hilltop Line Studio in KY. It is distributed worldwide and can be found on Apple iTunes\, CD baby\, Spotify\, Amazon\, and YouTube. Their second album Roll Me Away is produced by Bernie Nau at Peachfork Studios and contains many original songs by Josh Moody and Cody Nutter and was  released October 2020. \nThe band consists of 4 members Josh Moody (guitar\, vocals) Cody Nutter (mandolin\, vocals)  Harry Kuhn (upright bass\, vocals) and Mariane Barnett( vocals). DESCRIPTION:Glenn Miller disappeared on December 15\, 1944. The bandleader went down over the English Channel on a flight from London to Paris at the height of his popularity. In September 1942\, just prior to going into the army\, he had disbanded his famous orchestra and eventually formed the Glenn Miller Army Air Force Band to entertain the servicemen. \nNot long before he enlisted\, he nosed-out Tommy Dorsey\, the “Best Sweet Band” in the Downbeat poll. His recordings of In The Mood\, Chattanooga Choo Choo\, A String of Pearls\, Moonlight Serenade and Tuxedo Junction were all major hit records. Miller played to sell out crowds\, and his music constantly dominated the airwaves. \nOn December 15\, Major Miller took off in an ancient\, single engine plane to precede his band to Paris. The weather was foreboding. Not very confident\, he said to the pilot\, “Maybe we ought to call this off?”  The flight officer ribbed him about his fear of flying\, “Do you want to live forever?” \nNow\, over sixty years since the public first embraced the successful Miller Sound\, both the legend and the music live on. The Glenn Miller Orchestra is the most sought after big band in the world today for both concert and dance engagements. Still considered the greatest band of all time\, its unique sound is loved by almost anybody that cares for dance music. \nThe Miller Estate formed the present Glenn Miller Orchestra in 1956 following strong popular demand aroused as a result of the successful motion picture\, an immense box office smash\, The Glenn Miller Story\, starring James Stewart and June Allyson. DESCRIPTION:Béla Fleck\nJust in case you aren’t familiar with Béla Fleck\, there are many who say he’s the premiere banjo player in the world. Others claim that Fleck has virtually reinvented the image and the sound of the banjo through a remarkable performing and recording career that has taken him all over the musical map and on a range of solo projects and collaborations. If you are familiar with Fleck\, you know that he just loves to play the banjo\, and put it into unique settings. \nA fifteen-time Grammy Award-winner\, Fleck has the virtuosic\, jazz-to-classical ingenuity of an iconic instrumentalist and composer with bluegrass roots. His collaborations range from his ground-breaking standard-setting ensemble Béla Fleck and the Flecktones to a staggeringly broad array of musical experiments. From writing concertos for full symphony orchestra\, exploring the banjo’s African roots\, and collaborating with Indian musical royalty Zakir Hussain and Rakesh Churasia with Edgar Meyer\, to performing as a folk duo with wife Abigail Washburn\, and jazz duos with Chick Corea\, many tout that Béla Fleck is the world’s premier banjo player. As Jon Pareles wrote for The New York Times\, “That’s a lot of territory for five strings.” \nOver the last four decades\, Béla Fleck has made a point of boldly going where no banjo player has gone before\, a musical journey that has earned him 15 Grammys in nine different fields\, including Country\, Pop\, Jazz\, Instrumental\, Classical and World Music. But his roots are in bluegrass\, and that’s where he returns with his first bluegrass tour in 24 years\, My Bluegrass Heart. \nMy Bluegrass Heart is the third chapter of a trilogy which began with the 1988 album\, Drive\, and continued in 1991 with The Bluegrass Sessions. Fleck’s band will spotlight a multi-generational gamut of the best of bluegrass players\, all sporting a myriad of Grammy Awards and nominations\, as well as gigantic piles of IBMA awards for their instruments: fiddler Michael Cleveland\, mandolinist Sierra Hull\, multi-instrumentalist Justin Moses\, bassist/multi-instrumentalist Mark Schatz\, and Bryan Sutton on guitar. \n[av_hr class=’short’ height=’50’ shadow=’no-shadow’ position=’center’ custom_border=’av-border-thin’ custom_width=’50px’ custom_border_color=” custom_margin_top=’30px’ custom_margin_bottom=’30px’ icon_select=’yes’ custom_icon_color=” icon=’ue808′ font=’entypo-fontello’ av_uid=” custom_class=” admin_preview_bg=”] \nSam Bush\nOn a Bowling Green\, Kentucky cattle farm in the post-war 1950s\, Bush grew up an only son\, and with four sisters. His love of music came immediately\, encouraged by his parents’ record collection and\, particularly\, by his father Charlie\, a fiddler\, who organized local jams. As a teen fiddler Bush was a three-time national champion in the junior division of the National Oldtime Fiddler’s Contest. In 1971\, Bush formed the New Grass Revival with Ebo Walker\, Courtney Johnson\, and Curtis Burch\, issuing the band’s eponymous debut. Shunned by some traditionalists\, New Grass Revival played bluegrass festivals slotted in late-night sets for the “long-hairs and hippies” and quickly became a favorite of rock audiences. \nBush was the newgrass commando\, incorporating a variety of genres into the repertoire. He discovered a sibling similarity with the reggae rhythms of Marley and The Wailers\, and\, accordingly\, developed an ear-turning original style of mandolin playing. The group released eight albums\, chart-climbing singles\, made videos\, shifted their line up (welcoming in banjoist Béla Fleck and guitarist Pat Flynn in 1981) and earned Grammy nominations. After nearly 18 years together\, and\, at their zenith\, called it quits. \nBush worked the next five years with Emmylou Harris’ Nash Ramblers\, then a stint with Lyle Lovett. He took home three-straight IBMA Mandolin Player of the Year awards\, reunited with Fleck to tour with the Flecktones\, and then finally\, after a quarter-century of making music with New Grass Revival and collaborating with other bands\, Sam Bush went solo. Since then he’s released seven albums and a live DVD over the past two decades. Additionally\, Douglas is a freewheeling\, forward-thinking recording and touring artist whose output incorporates elements of country\, bluegrass\, rock\, jazz\, blues\, and Celtic into his distinctive musical vision. \nCalled “Dobro’s matchless contemporary master” by The New York Times\, three-time CMA Musician of the Year award recipient Jerry Douglas is one of the most innovative recording artists in music as a solo artist\, band leader for The Jerry Douglas Band and his GRAMMY winning bluegrass band The Earls of Leicester\, as well as a member of groundbreaking ensembles including Alison Krauss & Union Station\, J.D. Crowe & the New South\, The Country Gentlemen\, Boone Creek\, and Strength In Numbers. Douglas shines and soars. His distinctive sound graces more than 1500 albums with artists such as Garth Brooks\, George Jones\, Paul Simon\, Little Big Town\, James Taylor\, Emmylou Harris\, Elvis Costello\, Earl Scruggs\, Ray Charles\, Dierks Bentley\, and Tommy Emmanuel\, among many others. \nIn addition to touring\, Douglas has co-produced and performed on a series of platinum albums. Cleveland is IBMA’s most awarded Fiddle Player of the Year with 12 wins\, has won Instrumental Recorded Performance of the Year six times\, and fronts their 6-Time Instrumental Group of the Year. And\, he is a 2018 Inductee to the National Fiddler Hall of Fame. Picking up the fiddle at age 4\, by age 9\, Michael was invited to sit in with the legendary Bill Monroe at the Bean Blossom Bluegrass Festival. Soon after\, he brought his virtuosic style to the Grand Ole Opry as a guest of Alison Kraus\, and was hand picked for the IBMA Bluegrass Youth Allstars before he was 14. His blistering prowess and technical fluency have since marked him as a sought-after musician\, leading to performances with Vince Gill\, Marty Stuart\, Tim O’Brien\, J.D. Crowe and the New South\, Andy Statman\, and The Kruger Brothers in recent years. However\, it wasn’t until 2006\, when Michael formed his own band Michael Cleveland & Flamekeeper\, that he found the right vehicle for his musical vision\, and he hasn’t rested since\, constantly looking for new ways to push himself and his music forward. \nSierra Hull\nIn her first 25 years alone\, singer/songwriter/multi-instrumentalist Sierra Hull hit more milestones than many musicians accomplish in a lifetime. After making her Grand Ole Opry debut at the age of 10\, the Tennessee-bred virtuoso mandolinist played Carnegie Hall at age 12\, then landed a deal with Rounder Records just a year later. Now 28-years-old\, Hull delivered her fourth full-length album for Rounder in 2020: an elegantly inventive and endlessly captivating album called 25 Trips. Revealing her profound warmth as a storyteller\, the album finds Hull shedding light on the beauty and chaos and sometimes sorrow of growing up and getting older. To that end\, the album’s title nods to a particularly momentous year of her life\, including her marriage to fellow bluegrass musician Justin Moses and the release of her widely acclaimed album Weighted Mind — a Béla Fleck-produced effort nominated for Best Folk Album at the 2017 Grammy Awards. \nJustin Moses\nJustin Moses is an award winning multi-instrumentalist celebrated as one of the most versatile musicians in all of acoustic music. A prominent Nashville session musician\, he has appeared on stage or in the studio with an endless list of diverse artists such as Alison Krauss\, Del McCoury\, Garth Brooks\, Emmylou Harris\, Brad Paisley\, Vince Gill\, Bruce Hornsby\, Béla Fleck\, Peter Frampton\, Rosanne Cash\, Marty Stuart and Barry Gibb among many others. In 2018 and 2020 he was named Dobro Player of the Year by the International Bluegrass Music Association. Moses began his musical journey at the age of six after becoming interested in the mandolin. He soon developed a lasting passion for making music. He started to hone his skills playing in his family’s band as a child. Since then\, he’s toured with bands such as Blue Moon Rising\, The Dan Tyminski Band\, Ricky Skaggs & Kentucky Thunder\, Blue Highway and The Gibson Brothers. In his two-year stint with Tyminski\, he realized an early dream of playing the Grand Ole Opry for the first time and recorded the 2009 IBMA Album of the Year and Grammy-nominated album\, Wheels. He released his full-length album Fall Like Rain on January 22\, 2021 with Mountain Fever Records. \nMark Schatz\nTwice named IBMA’s Bass Player of  the Year\, Mark Schatz has toured and recorded with a stellar array of artists including Bela Fleck\, Tony Rice\, John Hartford\, Tim O’Brien\, Nickel Creek\, Claire Lynch\, and Sarah Jarosz. Mark is the Musical Director for internationally acclaimed Footworks Percussive Dance Ensemble which showcases other talents such as clawhammer banjo and Southern Appalachian clog dancing. This versatile multi-instrumentalist has two of his own solo recordings\, Brand New Old Tyme Way and Steppin’ in the Boiler House on Rounder Records\, which feature his own eclectic blend of original compositions on the banjo\, and two bass instructional videos on Homespun. Mark recently launched his own solo show: Mark Schatz — The Solo Concert\, in which he brings all of his skills to bear to tell his story through his own tunes and songs. \nBryan Sutton\nBryan Sutton is the most accomplished and awarded acoustic guitarist of his generation\, an innovator who bridges the bluegrass flatpicking traditions of the 20th century with the dynamic roots music scene of the 21st. His rise from buzzed-about young sideman to first-call Nashville session musician to membership in one of history’s greatest bluegrass bands has been grounded in quiet professionalism and ever-expanding musicianship. Sutton is a Grammy Award-winner and a nine-time IBMA Guitar Player of the Year. But these are only the most visible signs of Sutton’s accomplishments. He inherited and internalized a technically demanding instrumental style and has become for young musicians of today the same kind of model and hero that Tony Rice and Clarence White were for him. A “show within a show\,” the play portrays nearly every cast member in two different roles: as an actor in a traveling vaudevillian theatre troupe\, and a character performing a musical production of William Shakespeare’s The Taming of the Shrew.  \nIn Kiss Me\, Kate\, egotistical director and producer Fred Graham plays Petruchio opposite his movie-star ex-wife\, Lilli Vanessi\, who is playing Katherine. Their constant arguments include the fact that Fred is pursuing Lois Lane\, a younger actress playing Bianca. After the troupe rehearses for the evening’s opening show\, we meet Bill\, Lois’s boyfriend who plays Lucentio. He missed the rehearsal to gamble away a large sum of money. DESCRIPTION:Special Co-Production Presented By Par Mar Stores\nKC and The Sunshine Band are still as widely popular today as they were when they first danced into the music scene 40 years ago. Harry Wayne Casey–KC for short–developed a unique fusion of R&B and funk\, with a hint of a Latin percussion groove\, giving us an impressive string of hits like “GET DOWN TONIGHT”\, “THAT’S THE WAY (I LIKE IT)” and “SHAKE YOUR BOOTY”. With sales of over 100 million records\, nine Grammy nominations\, three Grammy Awards\, and an American Music Award\, KC and The Sunshine Band was one of the most progressive bands of the 70’s and is credited with changing the sound of modern pop music! \nKC and The Sunshine Band play over 100 live shows annually\, circling the country and playing dates regularly throughout Europe\, Australia and South America. In 2008\, KC celebrated 35 years entertaining us\, writing songs\, performing around the world and he has no intention of stopping.  KC’s songs have stood the test of time and you can ask any one of the thousands of fans who spend the entire concert on their feet\, dancing and shaking their booty. \nThe band released their latest single\, “Movin’ Your Body\,” on June 2\, 2017. Written by founder\, Harry Wayne Casey (KC)\, the song impacted the Billboard Dance Chart at No. 46 giving him his fourth consecutive Billboard Dance charting single. “With all the tension in the world right now\, I wanted to write a song to help people escape and leave their worries behind\,” said Casey. “I want people to get onto the dance floor and shake their booty\, like we did in the old days and are still doing today.”  \nThe deluxe remix collection features hot versions of the single served up by a who’s-who of dancefloor deliverers\, including the legendary Tony Moran and Brian Cua\, Ralphi Rosario\, Eric Kupper\, Bob Rosa\, LA Rush\, Vauxhill\, Joe Gillan\, Serbiscan and Mark Hagan.  \nKC and The Sunshine Band released\, Feeling You! The 60s\, in March 2015\, their first album in over a decade. The album is a tribute to the era that shaped H.W. Casey into the revolutionary artist he became in the 70s\, as a young person becoming acquainted with the world around him. Just like the rest of America during that time he was shaped by the music\, conflicts\, innocence\, sex\, social and political movements and counterculture of the era – which led to him founding the Dance Revolution and teaching the world how to boogie. “The widespread social and political issues of the 1960s was\, in part\, the inspiration to do something that would make people forget about their problems and be happy\,” said Casey. “People were looking for something that would divert their attention from the negative aspects of everyday life surrounding them.” \nPart one of the two-part Feeling You project\, the release featured covers of songs by sixties legends Bob Dylan\, Ben E. King\, The Kinks\, The Righteous Brothers\, Jackie DeShannon\, Aaron Neville and many more. “I’m excited for my fans to hear this album\,” said Casey. “I really went outside of the box vocally and creatively. Feeling You! The 60s is autobiographical\, showing how I feel about love\, life and the world through the music of that era.” \nContinuing his legacy as The Founder of The Dance Revolution\, just a few years ago\, KC headlined KC’s Boogie Blast: The Ultimate Dance Party tour with stops throughout the US and Canada.  The dance extravaganza also featured Gloria Gaynor\, Sister Sledge and fellow ‘SATURDAY NIGHT FEVER’ soundtrack alums Tavares. \nH.W. Casey started working in the music business at age 17\, performing menial tasks around the T.K. Records/Studio complex in his hometown of Miami.  The Sunshine Band originated in 1973.  Their first record\, ‘BLOW YOUR WHISTLE’\, made the top 15 on the R&B chart.  Their second album\, ‘KC AND THE SUNSHINE BAND’\, was released in 1975\, went triple platinum and contained the #1 hits “GET DOWN TONIGHT”\, “THAT’S THE WAY (I LIKE IT)”\, “BOOGIE SHOES” and “ROCK YOUR BABY”.   KC and the Sunshine Band became the first act to score four #1 pop singles in one 12-month period since the Beatles in 1964.  Three of those singles crossed over to become #1 R&B\, as well. \nKC’s third album\, PART 3\, released in 1976\, also went triple platinum and contained the #1 singles “I’M YOUR BOOGIE MAN”\, “SHAKE YOUR BOOTY” and “KEEP IT COMIN’ LOVE”.  The band’s string of hit singles continued with “BOOGIE SHOES”\, which was included on the ‘SATURDAY NIGHT FEVER’ soundtrack\, “PLEASE DON’T GO”\, and “YES\, I’M READY”\, a duet with high school friend Teri DeSario.  KC returned to the charts in 1983 with “GIVE IT UP”\, which also hit #1 in the UK. \nKC won a songwriting Grammy in 1976 for best R&B song for “WHERE IS THE LOVE”\, which was recorded by Betty Wright.  He also received Grammy Awards for Album of the Year\, as well as Producer of the Year in 1978 for his work on the ‘SATURDAY NIGHT FEVER’ soundtrack.   \nIn 1975 he won the American Music Award for Best R&B Artist.  In 2001\, KC was honored with the NARAS Governor’s Award\, the highest honor given by a chapter of the Academy. \nKC’s music continues to be a favorite today.  His songs have appeared in ads for companies like General Motors\, Burger King\, Payless Shoes\, Papa Jon’s Pizza\, Old Navy\, and Nick at Night.   \nHis music has also been featured in over 200 commercials and movies such as Forrest Gump (“Get Down Tonight”)\, Boogie Nights (“Boogie Shoes”)\, Boys Don’t Cry (“Rock Your Baby”)\, Rush Hour (“Get Down Tonight”)\, Carlito’s Way (“Rock Your Baby”\, “Shake Your Booty” and “That’s The Way I Like It”)\, and Austin Powers in Goldmember.  In the summer of 2003\, KC had a cameo in the feature film The In-Laws starring Michael Douglas and Albert Brooks.   \nKC’s songs are regularly heard at sporting events\, featured during Opening Ceremonies of the 2006 Winter Olympics in Torino\, Italy and performing a free concert in Salt Lake City for the 2002 Winter Olympics.  No stranger to the small screen\, KC’s songs have been featured in such shows as Desperate Housewives\,  Ally McBeal\, American Bandstand’s 50th Anniversary Party and most recently on American Idol and Dancing With The Stars with the help of the USC marching band.  KC and The Sunshine Band have the distinction of having made more appearances on Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve than any other artist in the program’s history! \nMusic acts like White Zombie\, Baha Men\, Beyoncé Knowles and American Idols Kelly & Justin have covered his music.  Additionally\, KC and the Sunshine Band’s grooves and bass lines have been sampled in everything from R&B by R. Kelly to Rap by Snoop Dogg and Trick Daddy to Dance by Ultra Nate and many\, many more. \nFrom the time of his biggest hits\, KC has toured regularly in the U.S.\, Europe\, Asia\, South America and Australia.  In 1995\, he recorded ‘Get Down Live\,’ a concert album that was gleaned from his performances in Los Angeles\, New York\, Chicago\, Peru and Melbourne\, Australia.  KC’s ‘The Best of KC and the Sunshine Band’ went gold in 1999.  KC and The Sunshine Band celebrated its 25th Anniversary in 1999 with a commemorative double CD release titled ‘The 25th Anniversary Collection\,’ and in fall of 2001\, KC released an album of all-new material entitled ‘I’ll Be There For You.’  Proceeds from the title song\, released as a single\, were donated to the September 11 relief effort.  From the beginning\, KC and The Sunshine Band wrote songs that spoke to a generation and in the 90’s a new generation began discovering disco with fresh ears and that discovery continues to this day. \nIn 2002 KC received the coveted Star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame\, where Dick Clark and music producer Michael Lloyd turned out to honor him.  This particular honor represents the passion that KC has in writing music\, implementing elements of various eras with his songs being a powerful signature from a passionate veteran craftsman. \nThat’s The Way I Like It – The Harry Wayne Casey Story\, a book that chronicles KC’s career\, was published in the Fall of 2002. \nYou can count on hearing his music on the radio\, at a nightclub\, at the movies\, in a sports arena or at one of the 100-plus concerts KC and The Sunshine Band plays every year.  It is always fun and truly makes all who hear it happy enough to dance! \nFor more information and to stay up-to-date\, visit heykcsb.com and connect on Facebook\, Twitter and Instagram.

DESCRIPTION:Featuring special guest: The Carpenter Ants \n“Funky\, cool and bad\,” is how Robert Cray describes his latest album\, That’s What I Heard\, out February 28. “I thought if we could get this thing that Sam Cooke used to have\, the kind of sound that early Sam Cooke records had\, that we could pull this off\,” says producer Steve Jordan. \nOver the past four decades\, Cray has created a sound that rises from American roots\, blues\, soul\, and R&B\, with five Grammy wins\, 20 acclaimed studio albums and a bundle of live albums that punctuate the Blues Hall of Famer’s career. On That’s What I Heard\, Robert celebrates the music of Curtis Mayfield\, Bobby “Blue” Bland\, The Sensational Nightingales and more\, alongside four newly written songs. Listen to the first single “Anything You Want” here (by Robert Cray)\, available now on all streaming services. \nCray and Jordan go way back\, having met during the making of the Chuck Berry documentary Hail! Hail! Rock ’n’ Roll\, in 1987. They started working together in 1999\, when Jordan produced the Grammy-winning Take Your Shoes Off\, and the recent Grammy-nominated LP\, Robert Cray & Hi Rhythm. That’s What I Heard is their sixth album. “Once you start working with Steve\, it’s kind of hard to get away from him\,” said Robert. \nThe music on That’s What I Heard falls into two camps\, the sweet and the funky. Of the former\, “You’re the One” comes from the Bobby “Blue” Bland songbook. “There’s this thing where I feel you kind of gotta get out of your own head when you’re covering one of your heroes\,” Cray explained. “Bobby’s one of those. You just let yourself go\, and do the song because you love it.” \nDon Gardner’s “My Baby Likes to Boogaloo” and the Billy Sha-Rae minor hit\, “Do It” are acknowledged rarities (the originals can be heard on the compilation\, Groove & Grind: Rare Soul). “Do It” is leaner and meaner\, the sort of bare-bones funk that defined the Detroit club sound in the early ’70s with Sha-Rae\, Dennis Coffey\, and Earl Van Dyke. Cray’s steamroller rendition gets a little extra push from guest guitarist Ray Parker\, Jr.\, who played in Sha-Rae’s band as a teen. \n“Burying Ground” is a sacred song from the Sensational Nightingales\, inspired by Cray’s youth\, when Sundays on the stereo were reserved for his parents’ gospel records. Curtis Mayfield wrote “You’ll Want Me Back” for Major Lance\, and Cray wrote “To Be with You” for his late friend\, Tony Joe White. “Hot” is another Cray original. “As for the lyrics\, “We always say to ourselves\, ‘I’m old\, but I’m hot\,’” he said\, and laughed. Spotted hanging around the studio\, Steve Perry sang harmony vocals on “Promises You Can’t Keep\,” written by Steve Jordan\, Kim Wilson and Danny Kortchmar. \n“Robert is just a great person besides being extraordinary talent\,” adds Jordan. “People gravitate to his guitar playing first\, but I think he’s one of the best singers I’ve heard in my life. Not only because of his singing ability\, but his interpretations. He’s such an honest soul in my opinion.” \nRobert’s band features Richard Cousins (bass)\, Dover Weinberg (keyboards)\, Terence F. Clark (drums)\, and Steve Jordan (drums\, percussion). \nThe Carpenter Ants\nSpecializing in “chicken-fried gospel soul\,” West Virginia’s premier rhythm and blues group offers lots of feel-good harmonies and a solid groove. Together for nearly 35 years\, the band has played throughout the South Atlantic region\, twice toured Moscow\, and joined the Rev. You’ll hear all your favorite 60’s\, 70’s\, 80’s and 90’s songs from top artists like Al Green\, Wilson Picket\, Stevie Wonder\, James Brown\, The Bee Gees\, The Police\, Men at Work\, The Allman Brothers Band\, Bob Marley\, and many more. \n“It all goes back to roots music for us.
