We like to take our audience on an emotional ride through our set\, and a lot of our grooves get people on the dance floor.” \nThe members of Vinnie and the Lubricators—whose name is derived from their shared love of mechanics and cars especially—have a laid back composure and a tight synchronization like that of a well-oiled machine. SUMMARY:The Fields of Gettysburg
DESCRIPTION:The Fields of Gettysburg is a song cycle that weaves together the personal stories of six people—actual people—whose lives intersected on the crossroads of Gettysburg during the epic battle that took place there on July 1–4\, 1863. \nCertainly a turning point of the American Civil War\, Gettysburg is among the ranks of the most significant battles in world history. Approximately 200\,000 lives collided in this small Pennsylvania town (population: 2\,500 at the time); creating at least that many viewpoints and a million stories to tell. \nThe FOG will introduce the listeners to six of these people and provide a glimpse of their individual and very personal stories.  The characters include two key Generals\, one Union and one Confederate\, who provide the moral bookends to the song cycle; three young Gettysburg natives who grew up together—only to be torn apart by the war—each yearning for some kind of reunion and a return to peace; and a mother who struggles to make sense of her own personal loss as well as the massive loss of the Nation’s youth. \nThis historically accurate musical presentation includes 12 songs and narrative that pulls the stories together\, all back-dropped by a pictorial presentation featuring period photographs and scenery of Gettysburg and the people involved. The entire show runs approximately 80 minutes. \nThe PBT presentation of The FOG will be the full-ensemble version of the song cycle (acoustic & electric guitars\, bass\, drums\, piano\, violin & harmonica played by John A. Walsh\, Michael Lipton [Mountain Stage]\, Ted Harrison\, Ammed Solomon [Mountain Stage]\, Bill White\, Raquel Ravaglioli\, and Todd Burge). Vocalists for this show will be the original album cast: John A. Walsh\, Todd Burge\, & Justin Arthur; joined by Sadie Johnson\, Craig Heath & Sarah Burton. In a very special guest appearance\, Mountain Stage’s Larry Groce will play the Narrator. \nComposed by Vienna\, West Virginia’s John A. Walsh\, The Fields of Gettysburg has been received with wide acclaim since its release in 2013. The show was featured on NPR’s Mountain Stage; and the CD is available at The Gettysburg National Park’s Museum Gift Store\, Tamarack’s The Best of West Virginia\, and the Steam Into History Railroad Gift Shop (New Hope\, PA). Growing up in small-town West Virginia\, the singer/songwriter/multi-instrumentalist left home in her early 20s to journey across the country with a troupe of nomadic musicians\, playing everywhere from truck stops to alleyways to freight-train boxcars speeding down the railroad tracks. After years of living in her van and busking on the streets of New Orleans and Seattle\, she moved to Nashville and soon landed a deal with Rounder Records on the strength of her magnetic live show. Now\, on her highly anticipated label debut Long Time Coming\, Ferrell shares a dozen songs beautifully unbound by genre or era\, instantly transporting her audience to an infinitely more enchanted world. \nCo-produced by Stu Hibberd and 10-time Grammy Award-winner Gary Paczosa (Alison Krauss\, Dolly Parton\, Gillian Welch)\, Long Time Coming embodies a delicate eclecticism fitting for a musician who utterly defies categorization. “I want my music to be like my mind is — all over the place\,” says Ferrell\, who recorded the album at Southern Ground and Minutia studios in Nashville. “I listen to everything from bluegrass to techno to goth metal\, and it all inspires me in different ways that I try to incorporate into my songs and make people really feel something.” In sculpting the album’s chameleonic sound\, Ferrell joined forces with a knockout lineup of guest musicians (including Jerry Douglas\, Tim O’Brien\, Chris Scruggs\, Sarah Jarosz\, Billy Strings\, and Dennis Crouch)\, adding entirely new texture to each of her gracefully crafted and undeniably heartfelt songs. \nSprung from her self-described “country heart but a jazz mind\,” Long Time Coming opens on the unearthly reverie of “The Sea\,” a haunting and hypnotic tale of scorned love. Its bewitching arrangement is adorned with sublime details like Ferrell’s tender toy-piano melodies and Scruggs’s woozy steel-guitar work. In a striking sonic shift emblematic of the whole album\, Ferrell then veers into the galloping beat and classic bluegrass storytelling of “Jeremiah\,” a heavy-hearted but sweetly hopeful romp featuring Jarosz on banjo and octave mandolin. Another impossibly charming bluegrass gem\, “Bells of Every Chapel” sustains that wistful mood as Ferrell muses on the exquisite pain of “loving someone unconditionally with all your heart\, but they don’t receive your love the way you want them to.” Graced with Strings’s nimble acoustic-guitar work and the heavenly harmonies of O’Brien and Julie Lee\, “Bells of Every Chapel” reaches its breathtaking crescendo as Ferrell belts out the song’s closing lyrics\, effectively twisting that heartache into something strangely glorious. \nOne of the most enthralling moments on Long Time Coming\, "Far Away Across the Sea" finds Ferrell serenading her tragically distant beloved\, channeling the track's ardent longing in wildly cascading guitar lines and the fiery trumpet work of Nadje Noordhuis. "Since I'm singing about the ocean in that song\, I wanted it to have a calypso vibe — but then there's also a bit of a tango feel to it\, and some Spanish influence too\," Ferrell points out. Noting that she first became fascinated with island music while touring with blues singer/songwriter C.W. A bold departure from the rugged simplicity of that rendition\, the album version of "In Dreams" unfolds with an unbridled splendor that wholly intensifies the impact of Ferrell's outpouring. Meanwhile\, in reimagining the self-reflective "Made Like That\," Ferrell introduces unexpected flourishes like loping percussion and luminous piano tones\, ultimately building an even more immersive atmosphere around the song's softly devastating confession. "When I wrote 'Made Like That\,' I was thinking about where I am now compared to what my life was like in West Virginia\," she says. "It was hell for me to be stuck in a small town\, but I got out and finally realized what the world had to offer. Now I'm here\, and I'm so much healthier and happier." \nDespite its endless wandering into new sonic terrain\, Long Time Coming is indelibly rooted in Ferrell’s ravishing vocal presence\, revealing her extraordinary ability to draw enormous feeling from just one single note. A lifelong singer\, she got her start performing covers in a local bar at the young age of seven. “There was this little dead-end bar nearby that my mom and I would go hang out at during the day\, and I’d get up and sing Shania Twain songs\,” she recalls. “There’d be hardly anyone in there\, so I’d have free rein of the place.” Later on\, while living in a trailer park\, Ferrell had a chance encounter that would soon turn out to be life-changing. “I met all these homeless kids who were traveling all over the place and playing amazing old songs\, and I wanted to be a part of that\,” says Ferrell. “The music they were making was so honest\, so pure. It seemed important to bring that kind of music back\, and it’s been with me ever since.” Though her years of traveling proved immensely formative\, Ferrell eventually settled in Nashville in her late 20s. Soon after her arrival\, she began taking the stage at major festivals like The Avett Brothers at the Beach\, AmericanaFest\, and Out on The Weekend and touring with the likes of Parker Millsap and Charley Crockett\, immediately captivating crowds with her joyful and spirited live set. \nA consummate musician’s musician\, Ferrell found an easy camaraderie with the many luminaries who accompanied her on Long Time Coming. To that end\, her most cherished moments in the album’s production include the recording of the soul-stirring choir-like harmonies of “West Virginia Waltz\,” as well as Rory Hoffman’s impromptu whistling on “Bells of Every Chapel.” (“Rory’s got one heck of a whistle on him\,” she marvels). At the same time\, the making of Long Time Coming fully affirmed her affinity for lifers like Strings. “Billy’s in it for the music\, which is something we have in common\,” she says. “We’re just gonna keep playing till we’re not on this Earth anymore.” \nWhile the wayward sound of Long Time Coming is in many ways a perfect echo of Ferrell’s free-spirited nature\, there’s also a much deeper intention at play: a desire to expand her listeners’ capacity for wonder\, so that they might uncover some enchantment in their own lives. “A lot of us are taught to wake up\, go to work\, make money\, eat\, sleep\, rinse\, repeat\,” says Ferrell. “It’s so easy to get caught up in that nine-to-five routine\, and end up numb and dulled-down to everything. Order tickets to see Sierra Ferrell with special guest OYO on April 30 at 8:00 pm. \nAngela Perley has spent the past decade onstage and on the road\, creating her own cosmic swirl of alt-country\, psychedelic rock\, and amplified Americana along the way. \nIt’s a sound that’s earned the Ohio native a following both at home and abroad\, from sold-out crowds in her native Columbus—where songs like “Electric Flame” have become staples of the FM radio—to audiences in Europe\, where Perley‘s debut album\, Hey Kid\, peaked at Number 6 on the EuroAmericana chart. \nOriginally launching her career as the frontwoman of Angela Perley and the Howlin’ Moons\, Perley has since gone solo\, funneling the sonic stomp that ran throughout 2014’s Hey Kid and 2016’s Homemade Vision into the personal\, poignant punch of solo records like 2019’s 4:30. She continues the momentum with her newest single\, “Here For You.” Written and produced by Perley\, the single serves as a love song to oneself — a personal\, guitar-driven pep talk\, delivering during a time of unprecedented challenges. \nPerley was still in the early stages of touring behind 4:30 when the Covid-19 pandemic brought her steady schedule of shows to a halt. For years\, she’d been getting used to rolling with the punches—booking her own shows\, growing her own business\, and graduating from barroom gigs in the Midwest to hard-won opening slots for the likes of Lucinda Williams and Tyler Childers. Her newly minted single\, “Here For You\,” (out 9/30/21) was written as a timely pick-me-up; call it a battle cry from a self-made star who’s never been shy about taking the road less traveled. \nLike the rest of Perley‘s catalog\, “Here For You” blurs the lines between genre and geography. DESCRIPTION:Graham Russell and Russell Hitchcock met on May 12\, 1975\, on the first day of rehearsals for the Australian production of Jesus Christ Superstar in Sydney. They became instant friends who shared much in common\, including their love of The Beatles whom they’d both seen in 1964 in England and Australia respectively. \nAfter the evening performance of Jesus Christ Superstar\, they would play in Coffee Bars\, Pizza Parlors\, and anywhere they could to hone their vocal skills and harmonies. Graham wrote constantly and\, with the help of Superstar Pianist Frank Esler Smith\, they recorded a few songs on cassette\, one of which was “Love and Other Bruises.” After taking these demos to all the major record companies and being rejected by all of them but one — CBS Records — they signed a recording deal. \nThe album was recorded and mixed in a week and “Love and Other Bruises” was released as the first single and immediately shot to the top of the charts. The name of the group came from a dream Graham had — he saw a billboard with flashing lights all around it and the words “AIR SUPPLY’ in the center. \nThe production of Jesus Christ Superstar ended in October 1976 and after only a couple of months\, they were invited to open for Rod Stewart in Australia and consequently Rod’s North American tour in 1977. Fifty shows in Canada and the United States in all the biggest venues\, including Madison Square Garden in New York and The “Fabulous” Forum in Los Angeles. \nPresuming they would be the conquering heroes when they returned home\, they were bitterly disappointed to find they had basically been forgotten. After several months of disappointment\, Graham wrote several songs\, including “Lost in Love” and “All Out of Love.” \n“Lost in Love” was released in Australia in 1978 and again soared to the top of the charts. It found its way to Clive Davis\, founder\, and president of Arista Records\, who immediately offered Air Supply a record deal. The song was released in 1980 and became the fastest-selling in the world\, topping the charts in a multitude of countries. “All Out of Love” was the second single released and topped the worldwide charts once again. \nSeven consecutive Top-Five singles at that time equaled The Beatles’ run. The albums Lost in Love\, The One That You Love\, Now and Forever\, and The Greatest Hits sold in excess of 20 million copies. “Lost in Love” was named song of the year in 1980 and along with the other singles\, sold more than 10 million copies. \nThe trademark sound of Russell Hitchcock’s soaring tenor voice and Graham Russell’s simple but majestic compositions created a unique sound that would be forever known as Air Supply. \nOn May 12th\, 2020\, the band celebrated 45 years… the rest is music history. \n[av_video src=’https://youtu.be/Oz9nVEzNUJI’ mobile_image=” attachment=” attachment_size=” format=’16-9′ width=’16’ height=’9′ conditional_play=” av_uid=” custom_class=”] \n  \nFeaturing Opening Act: John Walsh\nThe music of John A. He was born in Manchester\, England\, where he studied voice and acting at St. Bede’s College and the Manchester School of Music and Drama. As a child\, he played “Stanley Fairclough” in the long running British soap opera Coronation Street. He was also featured in the television series Knight Errant\, Family Solicitor and Monro’s Saki Stories. \nAt the age of fifteen\, Peter achieved international fame as “Herman”\, lead singer of the legendary pop band Herman’s Hermits. His classic hits include: “I’m Into Something Good”\, “Mrs. Brown\, you’ve Got A Lovely Daughter”\, “I’m Henry VIII\, I Am”\, “Silhouettes”\, “Can’t You Hear My Heartbeat”\, “Wonderful World”\, “Just A Little Bit Better”\, “There’s A Kind of Hush”\, “A Must To Avoid”\, “Listen People”\, “No Milk Today” “The End of the World” “Leaning On A Lamp Post”\, and “Dandy”. Ultimately\, Herman’s Hermits sold over fifty-two million recordings. In all\, fourteen singles and seven albums went gold. As “Herman”\, the photogenic Noone graced the cover of nearly every international publication including Time Magazine. DESCRIPTION:No refunds will be issued after Tuesday\, November 23\, 2021\, at 12:00 pm EST.\nIf you bought tickets for the previously scheduled dates in August 2020 or May 2021\, your tickets are still good for the November 27 date.\nFeaturing an opening performance by Emmy-nominated country music artist Risa Binder. \nBorn blind (his family thought it was retribution for sin)\, Ronnie Milsap’s grandparents gave the boy over to the North Carolina State School for the Blind hoping for a better chance.  There\, Milsap discovered music – deviating from the school’s classical curriculum to explore the nascent realms of race music\, rock & roll and jazz. \nBeing the brilliant kid he was\, it wasn’t long until he’d found his way into the local clubs and the tiny indie labels. \nSuddenly\, he was sharing bills with Ray Charles (who took the Ashford & Simpson-penned B-side to Milsap’s Scepter single “Never Had It So Good” and scored his own hit with “Let’s Go Get Stoned”)\, and James Brown on a circuit that included the Howard Theater\, the Royal Peacock\, and more. \nIt was Ray Charles who told the young pianist when he was offered a scholarship to Young Harris College’s law program\, “Son\, I can hear the music inside you…” \nIt settled Milsap’s fate. \nLiving in Atlanta\, playing clubs and doing sessions the future Country Music Hall of Famer caught wind that JJ Cale was looking for a keyboard player. Cale hired him. Ronnie went on to work at the Whiskey for a good while. \nFrom Atlanta\, Ronnie moved to Memphis where he was doing sessions with Chips Moman\, where Elvis famously commanded\, “More thunder on the keys\, Milsap\,” during the recording of “Kentucky Rain.” It was there he was asked to play the Whiskey on the famed Sunset Strip in LA. While staying at the notorious Hyatt House\, Charley Pride\, a famous man in country music\, saw the white kid playing rock & soul and suggested giving Nashville a try. \nForty #1s. Creating a new way of recording (being blind his hyper-attuned hearing led him to create/build what is now known as Ronnie’s Place\, where the new album\, the Duets\, was captured)\, he broke genre rules and became one of the biggest pop/AC and even R&B artists of the late ‘70s and early ‘80s. \nSix Grammys. The comedian is set to announced that he is saying goodbye to stand-up\, launching the farewell tour “Here’s Your Sign\, It’s Finally Time” with shows running into next year. \nThe comedian/actor/author\, who’s also a Grammy-nominated and multi-platinum selling recording artist\, is best known for his “Here’s Your Sign” routine. Engvall decided to hang the microphone up after more than 40 years in the business. \n“I have been blessed with the greatest career anyone could ask for\,” Engvall said. “Making people laugh is a dream job and has fulfilled my life in so many ways. I’m excited to focus on future opportunities in entertainment and spend more time with my family. He also starred on the WB’s hit sketch comedy show Blue Collar TV and in several solo specials for Comedy Central. In 2012 he reunited with Jeff Foxworthy and Larry the Cable Guy on the Them Idiots Whirled Tour\, which aired as a special on CMT. \nBill’s first album\, Here’s Your Sign\, is certified platinum and held the #1 position on the Billboard Comedy Chart for 15 straight weeks. His second album\, Dorkfish\, also debuted at #1 on Billboard’s Comedy Chart\, as did his subsequent comedy albums.
