For our 100th Anniversary\, Peoples Bank presents Chicago in one of the most intimate settings they’ve ever played. \nHailed as one of the “most important bands in music since the dawn of the rock and roll era\,” Chicago came in at #4 in Billboard Magazine’s recent Top Bands And Duos\, the highest charting American band in the chart’s history. Inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2016\, Chicago is the first American rock band to chart Top 40 albums in six consecutive decades. \nChicago’s first album\, Chicago Transit Authority\, was inducted into the GRAMMY Hall Of Fame in 2014\, and the band performed on the Grammy stage for the first time that year. \nRobert Lamm and James Pankow have become the latest inductees of the Songwriters Hall of Fame in 2017. These legendary songwriters wrote mega-hits such as\, “25 or 6 to 4\,” “Saturday In The Park\,” “Feelin’ Stronger Every Day\,” “Make Me Smile\,” and many others. \nMore than 40 years after its debut\, Chicago still sounds like nothing else. Released in 1970\, Chicago’s second album brims with confidence and inspiration as it draws on everything from orchestral music to heavy rock. It spawned a trio of Top Ten hits\, and the timeless classic has been remastered to reveal unprecedented clarity and definition. For the first time a new stereo remix\, created by British musician and producer Steven Wilson from the 16-track multi-track tapes\, made it possible to bring out elements that were muffled or submerged in the mix. The result is a new stereo version of CHICAGO II that boasts clearness\, punch and definition that it didn’t have before. It has recently been released by Rhino Records on CD and vinyl. \nCHICAGO’s award-winning documentary film\, Now More Than Ever: The History Of Chicago premiered on CNN. The documentary film was originally shown at the Sedona International Film Festival in February\, 2016\, and won the Film Festival’s Best of Fest Audience Choice Award. The band opened the festival with back-to-back sold-out performances. \nAdditionally\, Now More Than Ever: The History of Chicago won three awards in April\, 2016\, at the 10th Annual Fort Myers Beach Film Festival\, taking home top prizes in the Documentary and Audience Award categories. Director Peter Pardini was awarded the festival’s Rising Star Award in direction and was on hand to accept all three awards. Earlier that month the documentary was the runner-up for Audience Award at the Sarasota Film Festival. \nChicago’s newest record of new studio tracks\, “NOW” CHICAGO XXXVI\, was released on Frontiers Records. It includes eleven brand new songs\, recorded on the road. Chicago has built a new recording system that is flexible\, portable\, powerful and musical. This new “recording rig” travels with the band. They have even created an online collaboration portal that allows even more performances to be worked on around the clock from remote locations. The CD package is a six-panel digipack with a beautiful 16-page full color lyric booklet. \nChicago’s lifetime achievements include two Grammy Awards\, two American Music Awards\, Founding Artists of the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts\, a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame\, a Chicago street dedicated in their honor\, and keys to and proclamations from an impressive list of US cities. Record sales top the 100\,000\,000 mark\, and include 21 Top 10 singles\, 5 consecutive Number One albums\, 11 Number One singles and 5 Gold singles. An incredible 25 of their 36 albums have been certified platinum\, and the band has a total of 47 gold and platinum awards. \nChicago have toured every year since the beginning – they’ve never missed a year. The original four band members are Robert Lamm on keyboards and vocals\, Lee Loughnane on trumpet and vocals\, James Pankow on trombone and Walt Parazaider on woodwinds. The band line-up also includes Wally Reyes\, Jr. on drums\, Keith Howland on guitar and vocals\, Lou Pardini on keyboards and vocals\, Ray Herrmann on sax and flute\, Neil Donell on vocals\, Brett Simons on bass and Ramon “Ray” Yslas on percussion. \nFor five years\, Chicago raised over a quarter of a million dollars to fight breast cancer for the American Cancer Society by having a winning bidder come on stage and sing “If You Leave Me Now” in concert. Chicago generously support other charitable causes\, donating a portion of ticket sales to Kelly Cares\, established by Notre Dame head coach Brian Kelly and his wife Paqui\, to support local\, national and global organizations that strive to improve their communities in the areas of health and education. Portions of ticket sales also benefit the Ara Parseghian Medical Research Foundation\, which seeks a cure for a fatal children’s disease\, Niemann-Pick Type C. Chicago manager Peter Schivarelli\, who played football for Coach Parseghian\, is on Notre Dame’s Board Of Directors for their Athletic Commission. Chicago has also associated with Hannah & Friends\, an organization that serves children and adults with special needs. DESCRIPTION:The Joke’s On Us Tour\nLewis Black\, Grammy Award-winning\, stand-up comedian\, is one of the most prolific and popular performers working today. He executes a brilliant trifecta as a stand-up comedian\, actor and author. Receiving critical acclaim\, he performs more than 200 nights annually\, to sold-out audiences throughout Europe\, New Zealand\, Canada and the United States. He is one of a few performers to sell out multiple renowned theaters\, including Carnegie Hall\, Lincoln Center\, Brooks Atkinson Theatre\, New York City Center\, the Main Stage at the Mirage in Las Vegas and most recently\, a sold-out Broadway run at the Richard Rodgers Theatre in New York City. \nHis live performances provide a cathartic release of anger and disillusionment for his audience. He is a passionate performer who is a more pissed-off optimist than a mean-spirited curmudgeon. Lewis is the rare comic who can cause an audience to laugh themselves into incontinence while making compelling points about the absurdity of our world. \nWho Is Lewis Black? \nKnown as the king of the rant\, LEWIS BLACK uses his trademark style of comedic yelling and animated finger-pointing to skewer anything and anyone that gets under his skin. His comedic brilliance lies in his ability to make people laugh at the absurdities of life\, with topics that include current events\, social media\, politics and anything else that exposes the hypocrisy and madness he sees in the world. \nReceiving critical acclaim as a stand-up\, actor and author\, Lewis Black has performed for audiences throughout Europe\, New Zealand\, Canada and the United States. In 2012\, he performed eight sell-out shows at Richard Rodgers Theatre on Broadway. \nBorn in Washington D.C. on Aug. 30\, 1948\, Lewis Black was raised in Silver Spring\, Md. Colicky as a baby\, he was destined to be angry and easily irritated. His mother\, a teacher\, and his father\, a mechanical engineer\, instilled the importance of education and the necessity to question authority—lessons that influenced Black throughout his life. He fell in love with the theatre at age 12\, after seeing his first play\, which led to pursuing a career in drama. Degrees followed from the University of North Carolina and Yale Drama School\, with a stint in Colorado owning a theatre with a group of friends in the interim. During his tenure at UNC\, Black ventured into stand-up\, performing at Cat’s Cradle in Chapel Hill. Stand-up was a steady presence as he pursued his career in theatre. \nLewis Black eventually settled in New York City and became the playwright-in-residence at the West Bank Café’s Downstairs Theatre Bar. He oversaw the development of more than 1\,000 plays\, including works by “West Wing” creator Aaron Sorkin\, “American Beauty” writer Alan Ball\, as well as his own original works. In addition to overseeing the works on stage\, Black emceed every show. As the West Bank grew\, so did Black’s stand-up skills. He left the West Bank in the late 1980s to pursue stand-up full time. \nIn 1996\, his friend Lizz Winstead tapped him to create a weekly segment for Comedy Central’s “The Daily Show.” The segment\, a three-minute rant about whatever was bothering him at the moment\, evolved into Back in Black\, becoming one of the most popular and longest-running segments on the show for both the Jon Stewart era\, and now The Daily Show with Trevor Noah.  Black has also taped four specials for the “Comedy Central Presents” series\, co-created “Last Laugh with Lewis Black” and presided over “Lewis Black’s The Root of All Evil.” His popular appearances on Comedy Central helped to win him Best Male Stand-Up at the American Comedy Awards in 2001. \nIncreased exposure from “The Daily Show” generated a record deal with Stand Up! Records. His first CD\, “The White Album\,” was released in 2000 to critical acclaim. Black followed with eight more—six under the Comedy Central Records label. He has received five Grammy® nominations and two wins for his work. The first nomination came in 2006 for “Luther Burbank Performing Arts Center Blues\,” the second in 2009 for “Anticipation.” In 2007 he won the Grammy for Best Comedy Album for “The Carnegie Hall Performance\,” and again in 2011 for “Stark Raving Black.” His 2012 release\, “In God We Rust” (Comedy Central Records) was also nominated for a Grammy. \nLewis Black has filmed two specials for HBO\, including “Black On Broadway” and “Red\, White and Screwed.” The latter was nominated for an Emmy® in 2007. He had a regular feature for two seasons on “Inside the NFL” (for which he earned a Sports Emmy) and in 2006\, he was asked to participate in “Comic Relief.” \nIn 2009 Lewis filmed his first feature length concert film\, “Stark Raving Black\,” at the Fillmore Theatre in Detroit. The film had a limited run in theaters across the U.S. and Canada in the summer of 2010. At the end of the theater run\, premium movie channel EpixHD picked up the film for its channel\, along with the accompanying documentary\, “Basic Black.” Both are aired regularly and can be found in the EpixHD on-demand queue. In 2011\, he produced his second full-length concert\, “In God We Rust\,” which also airs on EpixHD. In August 2013\, Black recorded his ninth stand-up special “Old Yeller: Live At The Borgata.” \nIn 2015\, Black joined the cast of Madoff (ABC mini series). Black portrays  Ezra Merkin\, who\, after investing with Madoff and receiving great returns\, brought many famous and well-to-do Jewish clients\, including Elie Weisel and The Hadassah Organization\, to Bernie’s fold. \nBlack has appeared on “Larry King Live\,” “Piers Morgan Tonight\,” “Late Night with Jimmy Fallon\,” “The Late Show with David Letterman\,” “Late Night with Conan O’ Brian” and “The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson.” Black has also had numerous appearances on CNN and MSNBC and has occasionally done the weather with Al Roker. \nIn the midst of a rigorous touring schedule\, regular TV appearances and movie roles\, Black has written three best-selling books: “Nothing’s Sacred” (Simon and Schuster\, 2005)\, “Me of Little Faith” (Riverhead Books\, 2008) and “I’m Dreaming of a Black Christmas” (Riverhead Books\, 2010). All garnered critical praise as well commercial success and spent numerous weeks on the New York Times best sellers list. \nBlack has penned more than 40 plays\, many of which have been produced around the country. “The Deal\,” a dark comedy about business\, was made into a short film in 1998 and picked up by the Sundance Channel. In 2011\, his play “One Slight Hitch” was produced at the Williamstown Theatre Festival and then again in 2012 at both the ACT Theatre in Seattle and The George Street Theatre in New Brunswick. \nIn 2006\, Black had a break-out year as an actor\, co-starring with Robin Williams in Barry Levinson’s “Man of the Year” (Universal Pictures). He also appeared as “the fake dean of a fake college” in Steve Pink’s “Accepted” (Universal Pictures) and as the harried airport manager in Paul Feig’s “Unaccompanied Minors” (Warner Bros.). He lent his voice to Jimmy in Bob Saget’s parody “Farce of the Penguins” (Thinkfilm). \nIn 2015\,  Black notably voiced the character “Anger” in the Academy Award winning film from Pixar\, “Inside Out.” The film is about an 11-year-old-girl\, Riley\, who is dealing with a move across the country\, and wrestling with the emotions inside her head: Joy (Amy Poehler)\, Sadness (Phyllis Smith)\, Fear (Bill Hader)\, Disgust (Mindy Kaling) and\, Lewis Black. Early film pitches actually named the comedian to illustrate how an iconic voice like Black’s could bring a character like Anger to life. Black\, who’s a fan of all things Pixar\, calls the opportunity a career-defining role. “I knew from the very beginning that this was going to be special\,” he says. “I’ll be remembered as this little red guy who yells and his head goes on fire.” \nAs a long time mentor with the 52nd Street Project\, Black was roasted in Charred Black 2007\, which drew the largest fundraising numbers in the Project’s history. He’s a member of their advisory board\, is co-chair of their capital campaign\, and in 2000\, the Ron Black Memorial Scholarship Fund was created in memory of his late brother. Black is also committed to raising funds for the Rusty Magee Clinic for Families and Health. He’s a strong supporter of both the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation and Autism Speaks and was honored by The Brady Center for his commitment to ending gun violence. In 2012\, he was honored by the ACLU of Georgia with their National Civil Liberties Award. At the Williamstown Theatre Festival\, he established the William Foeller Fellowship\, having taught and performed at the festival for more than a decade. Black also supports our military personnel and has performed in three tours with the USO\, visiting several Middle Eastern and European military bases with Robin Williams\, Lance Armstrong\, Kid Rock\, Miss America Rachel Smith and Kellie Pickler. \nBlack resides in both Manhattan and Chapel Hill\, N.C. Still loyal to his alma mater\, he’s worked with UNC students to create the Carolina Comedy Festival\, a yearly festival on the UNC campus that highlights performances and provides workshops and lectures for budding comics\, writers and performers. With his involvement at UNC\, Black continues a life-long commitment to education and the arts. He continues to tour heavily\, playing countless dates each year and providing a cathartic release of anger and disillusionment for his audience. After a difficult transition\, Lee nearly left the music life behind entirely\, but he began to write again and in doing so found his own musical voice. In his old life\, Lee might have sought collaborators to start a band\, but having difficulty finding enough like-minded musicians\, he focused instead on discovering himself as a solo artist\, something he’d never tried before. Playing solo shows in the Ohio Valley area led to a new confidence in his ability as a singer-songwriter and to a new group of musical collaborators. \nOn his debut EP\, Promise Land (June 2017)\, Joshua wrestles with questions of loss and cautiously reaches for hope rather than despair. Two weeks after teaching him the G\, C and D chords\, Hobert returned from working out of town shocked to see his young son making chord changes and singing along. He soon earned a reputation among the locals in his community. When the legendary Bill Monroe came to Martha\, Kentucky for a performance\, the crowd wouldn’t let up until “Little Ricky Skaggs” got up to play. The father of bluegrass called six- year-old Skaggs up and placed his own mandolin around his neck\, adjusting the strap to fit his small frame. No one could have imagined what a defining moment that would be in the life of the young prodigy. By age seven\, Skaggs performed with bluegrass legends Flatt & Scruggs on their popular syndicated television show\, for which he earned his first paycheck for a musical performance. \nIn 1971\, he entered the world of professional music full-time with his friend\, the late country singer\, Keith Whitley\, when the two young musicians were invited to join the band of bluegrass patriarch Ralph Stanley. Ricky soon began to build a reputation for creativity and excitement through live appearances and recordings with acts such as J.D. Crowe & the New South. He performed on the band’s 1975 debut album for Rounder Records\, which is widely regarded as one of the most influential bluegrass albums ever made. A stint as a bandleader with Boone Creek followed\, bringing the challenges of leadership while giving him further recording and performing experience. \nIn the late 1970’s\, Ricky turned his attention to country music. Though still in his 20’s\, the wealth of experience and talent he possessed served him well\, first as a member of Emmylou Harris’ Hot Band and later as an individual recording artist on his own. With the release of Waitin’ for the Sun to Shine in 1981\, Skaggs reached the top of the country charts and remained there throughout most of the 1980’s\, resulting in a total of 12 #1 hits. In 1982\, he became a member of the Grand Ole Opry\, the youngest to ever be inducted at that time. As his popularity soared\, he garnered eight awards from the Country Music Association (CMA)\, including “Entertainer of the Year” in 1985\, four Grammy Awards and dozens of other honors. These achievements also placed him front and center in the neo-traditionalist movement\, bringing renewed vitality and prominence to a sound that had been somewhat subdued by the commercialization of the ‘Urban Cowboy’ fad. Renowned guitarist and producer\, Chet Atkins\, even credited Skaggs with “single-handedly” saving country music. \nIn 1997\, after Ricky’s then-current recording contract was coming to an end\, he made the decision to establish his own record label – Skaggs Family Records. Since then\, Skaggs and his band Kentucky Thunder have released an amazing 12 consecutive Grammy-nominated classics (8 of which went on to earn the revered award) while also opening the label to a variety of other musical artists\, all the time keeping emphasis on bluegrass and other forms of roots music. Ricky and Skaggs Family Records have had the privilege of working with many musical talents\, including the Del McCoury Band\, Jerry and Tammy Sullivan\, Blue Highway\, The Whites\, Mountain Heart\, Melonie Cannon\, Ryan Holladay\, Keith Sewell\, Cherryholmes and Cadillac Sky. \nRicky’s first release for Skaggs Family Records\, Bluegrass Rules!\, set a new standard for bluegrass\, breaking new sales records in the genre\, winning Skaggs his sixth Grammy Award and earning the International Bluegrass Music Association’s (IBMA) Album of the Year Award. In 1999\, his second all-bluegrass album\, Ancient Tones\, won a Grammy Award for Best Bluegrass Album – his second consecutive Grammy in that same category. Just one year later\, Ricky won his eighth Grammy Award in the Best Southern\, Country or Bluegrass Gospel Album category for Soldier of the Cross\, his first all-gospel project with his band Kentucky Thunder. \nRicky made further progress with the release of his fourth bluegrass album in 2000\, Big Mon: The Songs of Bill Monroe\, a project which featured an all-star cast of musicians ranging from Dolly Parton\, Patty Loveless and Travis Tritt to Joan Osborne\, John Fogerty and Bruce Hornsby\, and celebrated the music and the life of Ricky’s mentor\, Bill Monroe. The decision to record a live album was an obvious one for Skaggs. From a string of high-profile tour dates with the Dixie Chicks in 2000\, to his position as host of the unprecedented “All*Star Bluegrass Celebration” which aired nationwide on PBS in 2002\, to his participation in the wildly successful 41-city ‘Down from the Mountain’ tour – Ricky has become one of bluegrass’ most dynamic and sought-after live performers. Live at the Charleston Music Hall was honored in 2004 with a Grammy Award for Best Country Performance by a Duo or Group for the Harley Allen-penned track\, “A Simple Life.” \nHe counts the current configuration of Kentucky Thunder among the best group of musicians he has ever worked with. “This group of guys meets my approval every night\,” Ricky says. “Each and every one of the pickers in Kentucky Thunder totally amazes me in every show…and that\, to me\, outweighs any award we could ever win.” The all-star lineup of Kentucky Thunder includes Paul Brewster (tenor vocals\, rhythm guitar)\, Russ Carson (banjo)\, Jake Workman (lead guitar)\, Mike Barnett (fiddle)\, Dennis Parker (baritone vocals\, guitar) and Jeff Picker (bass\, bass vocals). \nIn 2005\, Ricky earned his 10th career Grammy (Best Bluegrass Album) for Brand New Strings – a beautiful collection of music featuring four Skaggs originals as well as several tunes by some of his most admired contemporaries\, including Harley Allen\, Guy Clark and Shawn Camp. In 2006\, Skaggs was honored with a Grammy Award – this time in the Best Musical Album for Children category – for his contribution to Songs from the Neighborhood: the Music of Mister Rogers. Greater success followed with the release of Ricky Skaggs and Kentucky Thunder Instrumentals\, an album of all-original\, all- instrumental material in the fall of 2006. Praised by fans and critics alike as a landmark album for Skaggs\, Instrumentals debuted at No. 1 on Billboard’s bluegrass album chart and earned Ricky his 12th career Grammy Award (Best Bluegrass Album). \nCross pollination has been a mainstay throughout Ricky’s career\, from his weekly collaborations with various artists as host of The Nashville Network’s Monday Night Concerts in the 1990’s to his recent pairings with Bruce Hornsby and The Whites. Released in March of 2007\, Ricky Skaggs and Bruce Hornsby (Sony/Legacy) drew from the deep roots in mountain music – adding piano and Hornsby’s inimitable songwriting to the core bluegrass lineup of mandolin\, guitar\, bass\, fiddle and banjo. A major ‘CMT Crossroads’ special coincided with the album’s release. \nHis next recorded project\, released in September of 2007 on Skaggs Family Records\, was a literal family affair. He elaborates\, “If I could’ve gotten my dad into the studio\, this is how I would’ve wanted him to sound.” Playing every instrument and singing every note on the album\, Ricky brought raw\, emotional honesty to the songs. By coming home to the music that meant so much to him as a child\, Ricky tapped into a wellspring of passion that is channeled into every tune\, as though he willed himself back to his family’s house in Kentucky. Solo was honored in the American roots field with a Grammy nomination for Best Traditional Folk Album in 2010. \nRicky Skaggs’ album\, Mosaic (2010)\, marked a return to a full band sound that mixed elements of Country music with Beatles-esque melody and lyrics that spoke to Skaggs’ faith\, “making music that is in my head and in my heart\,” as Ricky said. With his mother playing piano\, his father playing guitar\, and his sister on the banjo\, it seemed only natural that he would get his first mandolin at the age of seven. By the age of nine\, he was in his first band\, and in his teens he began appearing at local competitions. When he graduated from high school in 1988\, he married and took a job as a U.P.S. deliveryman\, but he continued to play and attend bluegrass festivals in his spare time. He won he Ohio State Guitar Championship in 1992 and again in 1993. In 1995\, his Crossroads Band won the band competition at Winterhawk\, NY\, and he won the guitar competition at MerleFest. He took the mandolin championship a the Vandalia Gathering in Charleston\, WV\, in 1996\, 1997\, and 1999; in 1997\, he also won the guitar championship and came in third in the fiddle championship. With that\, he was featured on the Mountain Stage radio series and people in Nashville began touting his talents. After recording a series of demos with Nashville bluegrass stars\, he was signed to Giant Records\, which released his debut album\, Wires & Wood\, in 2000. “Wires and Wood” demonstrates Johnny’s dazzlling mandolin and expressive voice with a stellar cast of bluegrass legends including: John Cowan\, Sam Bush\, Jerry Douglas\, Jim Hurst\, and Tim O’Brien. Other co-stars on the CD were Sara Evans and Kathy Mattea. \nTo date\, Staats continues to head out every day in his big brown UPS truck\, and no matter how busy he gets with his music\, folks around Sandyville\, West Virginia area can still count on Johnny to deliver right on time.

His first goal was to reorganize the company from a small group to a world renowned production company. He chose the United States of America as his starting point. With Mr. Bill Fegan’s assistances\, the Golden Dragon Acrobats debuted in 1985. \nToday\, the Golden Dragon Acrobats have been recognized as the preeminent Chinese acrobatic company in the United States. Formed by young virtuoso Andrew Greene at the University of Maryland in 2010\, the Peacherine Ragtime Society Orchestra recreates the syncopated stylings of a bygone era – Ragtime\, Theater\, and Dance music\, along with underscoring classic silent movies using an immense archive of over 12\,000 original orchestral scores. \nThe PRSO has repeatedly appeared at leading venues including The Kennedy Center\, The Library of Congress\, The American Film Institute\, historic theaters\, state-of-the-art performing arts centers\, colleges\, universities\, and concert associations across the United States. Born to ponder and observe life\, each of his songs tells a story. Whether drawn from personal experience or a tale of poetically woven fiction\, you’ll live every second of it through his songs. \nNow\, Todd Burge is releasing two original albums – one from 2018 and one for 1986 – as double CD package. Todd Burge (1986 The First Album) is his never-released debut record\, and the second\, Your Reflection Will Kill You\, is his latest work recorded by Don Dixon (James McMurtry\, REM). They are a pair of now-and-then sonic bookends\, both opposite and yet intertwined as a collection of stories that brought Burge to where he is today. \nDescribing it as a victim of record industry red tape\, Burge says that “the 1986 album was probably the second or third time I was ever in a studio. It’s a rock and roll record with bits of punk. I’m not surprised at how it sounds when I listen to it now\, because I know I was filled with angst back then. Maybe that’s what I needed it to be when I was recording that music. Now I listen to it as if someone else created it\, and it really helped me decide which songs would go on the new record.”  \nA few years and a few experiences later\, Your Reflection Will Kill You\, shows that\, like good whiskey\, Burge is refined with time. On the making of the new record\, Burge tells us\, “I wanted to be as comfortable as possible\, so I asked Don Dixon (James McMurtry\, REM) to come to my home. Don is a master at capturing a live recording session and making everyone feel comfortable. He has a great set of ears and great taste. You can trust his opinion\, and that is important as\, after a while\, when I record\, I don’t trust my own. \n“The only rule I brought to the table was that we would not use anything but our acoustic instruments. Steel string guitar for me\, nylon for Ryan (Kennedy)\, upright acoustic for John (Inghram). See\, I have this emotional attachment to that sound that dates back to when I was five or six years old\, back when I was still taking naps\, I think. I would ask my mother to play Roger Miller’s greatest hits. You know Roger Miller’s “King of the Road”? Miller played a nylon string guitar. It’s a sound you don’t hear often in country music\, but Roger Miller was not typical. I’ve been a huge fan of Willie Nelson’s since I was in grade school as well. Another nylon string guitar player. That guitar sound is just embedded in me. It moves me more than most sounds do.” \n“With wit and pathos in equal measure\, Todd Burge takes on subjects in his songs that never occur to most folks. Subjects too quirky\, too controversial\, too obtuse for most writers to get a handle on. His compelling vocal style and unique perspective keep me interested long after the last note rings out.”-Engineer- Don Dixon \nWilliam Matheny\nIt’s fitting that William Matheny has chosen to honor the 15th anniversary of Centro-matic’s tour de force album Love You Just the Same on his new 7-inch: The 2003 full-length from Will Johnson’s four-piece was one of the most acclaimed releases from Misra Records’ first five years\, and Matheny has emerged as one of the label’s standard-bearers as it enters closes in on the end of its second decade. \nThe tribute takes the form of a cover of “Flashes and Cables\,” the now-classic from Love You\, on the A-side of Matheny’s single. Matheny’s spin is\, like so many memorable covers\, faithful to the original up to a point—he chose to keep the dramatic shifts in dynamics and picked up the pace only a pinch—but diverges just enough to make it distinct. Gone is Johnson’s martial drumbeat in favor of Matheny’s Spector-informed\, lazy swung backbeat. In lieu of Centro-matic’s slow disintegration and off-kilter keys\, we get a triumphant guitar solo worthy of J. Mascis as the song winds down. Quality songwriting isn’t threatened by interpretation\, and in this new interpretation you’re bound to glimpse aspects of Johnson’s song you overlooked before. \nOf course\, it doesn’t hurt when the interpreter is a top-notch songwriter as well: Matheny\, on the heels of 2017’s Strange Constellations LP and last spring’s EP “Moon Over Kenova\,” is a breakout voice in country-rock\, and keeps on proving it. The B-side of the new single\, “Christian Name\,” manages to turn variations on a theme into three or four distinct hooks\, any one of which would have been enough for most songsmiths to hang their hat on. Tom Petty is in there somewhere beneath the world-weary country-rock exterior\, but so is the dark-tinged bluesy folk of Lucinda Williams. \nFor some\, Matheny’s tribute to Centro-matic will represent a nostalgic trip; for others it may be an entrée into the music of both Misra mainstays. The thing is\, either way\, it’s a pair of tracks worthy of play on repeat: Two gems with equal parts twang and tremolo\, clever riffs and thoughtful words\, delivered with deceptive ease. \nAdam Remnant\nAdam Remnant came up over the last decade fronting the folk-rock band Southeast Engine. As the principal singer and songwriter of the band\, Remnant and his bandmates garnered critical acclaim from publications such as Paste Magazine\, Pitchfork\, NPR\, American Songwriter\, Magnet\, Stereogum\, PopMatters\, AV Club\, and many more. They established a substantial following over the years\, releasing five albums and touring across the United States and Canada. \nAs Southeast Engine wound down\, Remnant began plotting his way forward as a solo artist. He assembled a little studio in his basement and earnestly began writing & recording the songs that comprise the 2016 EP\, When I Was a Boy\, as well as the new full-length\, Sourwood. Remnant’s signature baritone voice and literary songwriting act as the focal point in the productions spanning between folk\, rock\, and indie sounds mined from a Midwest basement. \nSourwood is a record long in the making. In the intervening years since Southeast Engine\, Remnant and his wife\, Amanda\, became parents to two curly blond-haired girls\, which they raise in the fertile creative town of Athens\, Ohio. Located in the foothills of the Appalachian mountains\, it’s here that Remnant pursues his musical visions while tending to daily matters. The songs of Sourwood were birthed in that intersection of youth and adulthood where dreams and realities confront one another.  The songs detail the desire to find potential opportunities beyond the horizon while feeling the gravity of home. The album drifts back and forth between those push & pull forces of home and travel as one might drift between a waking and dream state. Somewhere between those two states is a place called Sourwood. \nThe album is largely recorded and performed by Adam Remnant with contributions from Remnant’s working band\, consisting of brother\, Jesse Remnant\, on bass and harmony vocals; Ryan Stolte-Sawa on violin and harmony vocals\, and Jon Helm on drums. It is said to have been created for her in the 1920s by the bartender at the Hotel Nacional de Cuba on a trip she took to Havana with her husband Douglas Fairbanks and his best friend\, Charlie Chaplin. \nThe Gin Rickey\n \nMade with lime juice\, seltzer water\, gin\, and a touch of sweetness\, the Gin Rickey is a Prohibition Era classic\, straight from the pages of The Great Gatsby (chapter seven\, for those of you taking notes). But it’s origins go several decades back in Washington\, D.C.\, at a popular watering hole up the street from the National Theatre. Missouri politician and lobbyist “Colonel Joe” Rickey was a regular at Shoomaker’s bar and first conceived his signature drink in the typically hot 1883 summer campaign season. The bartender\, George Williamson\, prepared it to the colonel’s instructions\, and the first one was actually a rye Rickey made with Shoomaker’s own house-label whiskey. Though Colonel Joe remained faithful to his original concoction\, in short order gin would eclipse the rye (and inspire a whole family of drinks called Rickeys). \nThe Bee’s Knees\n \nThe phrase “bee’s knees\,” which initially was used to indicate something small or insignificant\, predates the cocktail by more than a century. Usage later evolved\, as it does\, and the idiom was applied to people or things that were considered the best or “height of excellence.” A gin-based cocktail\, honey and lemon were added to soften the edge of the questionable bathtub gins being turned out at speakeasies\, or obtained via other clandestine backchannels. Evidence suggests Frank Meier\, a bartender at the Ritz Paris\, was the cocktail’s original creator.

JB brings them back to the United States to train with legendary pitching coach Tom House. The goal: get the boys signed to a major league team. Not only is the game itself difficult to master\, but life in the U.S. with a committed bachelor makes things even more complicated-for all of them. While Rinku and Dinesh learn the finer points of baseball and American culture\, they in turn teach JB the true meaning of teamwork and commitment. Ultimately\, what began as a purely commercial venture becomes something more and leads JB to find the one thing he was never looking for at all-a family.

DESCRIPTION:With opening artists The Pottmeyers \nWith 24 top ten records\, 16 #1 hits\, ACM Video of the Year award and having been a 10 time male vocalist of the year nominee (5 CMA and 5 ACM) this truly electrifying performer remains one of the great voices of country music. Collin Raye released a legacy CD in May 2018 entitled 25 Years\, 25 Hits. \n \nCollin Raye is nothing if not passionate. His soulful delivery has set country standards in such searing ballads as “Love\, Me\,” “In This Life\,” “Not That Different” and “If I were you”. Always an energizing showman\, he has also blazed through such vivid rockers as “My Kind of Girl\,” “That’s My Story\,” “I Can Still Feel You” and “I Want You Bad.” \n \nCollin shot to fame with “Love\, Me” in 1991. Listeners were so moved by this golden and pure voice that this song set the cornerstone for a career built on meaningful and emotional songs that have often been used for weddings\, anniversaries\, memorial services and funerals. He currently resides in Nashville\, TN with his daughter\, Britanny and granddaughter\, Mattie. \nProceeds of this concert will benefit Washington County foster children and foster parents.\n“Our vision for this benefit concert is to assist foster parents by providing funding to be used for normal childhood activities not covered by county funds\, in hopes of enhancing these children’s lives.” \n“Foster/adoptive caregivers are concerned individuals who are dedicated to providing the needs of Washington County’s children whose lives have been disrupted due to abuse and neglect. They offer food\, housing\, guidance\, acceptance\, understanding\, and support for children who are unable to stay with their families. Without these committed individuals\, abused and neglected children would not have a safe place to call home.” \nThe Pottmeyers\n \nSteve and Beverly Pottmeyer are entertainers bringing classic country and Americana style music to their venues. Beverly plays electric bass to accompany Steve’s 12-string acoustic guitar. They provide a blend of harmony to each other’s songs with a laid back style that sometimes includes a bit of humor; sometimes a bit of inspiration; and sometimes a bit of nostalgia.

DESCRIPTION:Since he first came to the world’s attention with his deeply beautiful and original take on George Harrison’s “While My Guitar Gently Weeps” in a viral video that dominated YouTube in 2005\, the Hawaiian-born Jake Shimabukuro has virtually reinvented the four-string instrument\, causing many to call him “the Jimi Hendrix of the ukulele.” \nThroughout his rich and varied catalog of albums\, Jake has captured the many moods of the ukulele\, fearlessly traversing boundaries and putting his inspired touch on everything from island standards\, to popular tunes and classical symphonic concertos. He has collaborated with artists from Yo-Yo Ma\, Jimmy Buffett\, Jack Johnson and Cyndi Lauper to Ziggy Marley\, Dave Koz\, Lyle Lovett and Bette Midler\, and he haswowed audiences at SXSW\, Bonnaroo\, the Playboy Jazz Festival and the cutting-edge TED conference. This year\, he founded Shima Ukulele with his brother\, a fellow artist and teacher\, Bruce Shimabukuro\, which aims to make quality ukuleles accessible for anyone interested in learning to play. \nShimabukuro\, one of the most exceptional and innovative ukulele players in the history of the instrument\, will release his newest record\, The Greatest Day\, on August 31\, 2018 via Mailboat Records. \nThe album was recorded at Music City’s famed Ronnie’s Place studio with producer R.S. Field – the same city\, studio\, and producer as 2016’s “adventurous and dazzling” (Associated Press) Nashville Sessions. Returning as the ace rhythm section are bassist Nolan Verner and drummer Evan Hutchings; the group added guitarist Dave Preston to expand upon the sound they started creating two years ago. \nShimabukuro is now on an extensive tour of the United States and begins a tour of Japan this fall. “I’m really excited to play the new songs in my shows\,” he says. “Making my new record was one of the highlights I’ve had in the studio. I couldn’t be happier with the sounds and arrangements. But most of all\, we had a ton of fun making it.”

SUMMARY:Hot Rize featuring Red Knuckles and The Trailblazers
DESCRIPTION:Hot Rize has been astounding the bluegrass world with their fresh\, contemporary approach to traditional music ever since their formation in 1978. The band’s unique and progressive style of bluegrass\, powerful original songs\, tight-as-a-drum ensemble playing\, and dynamic stage show quickly made them stars on the major festival circuit and far beyond. In 1990\, Hot Rize won the first-ever International Bluegrass Association’s Entertainer of the Year Award and in 1991 they picked up a Grammy nomination for Best Bluegrass album and won IBMA Song of the Year. Since the 90s\, this all-star band has kept their legend alive by performing at only the most prestigious festivals (like Hardly Strictly Bluegrass​\, Telluride​\, Bonnaroo​\, and GreyFox​) and a few select venues. This crazy thing happens when you hire Hot Rize – everywhere they go\, the ever-popular Red Knuckles & The Trailblazers shows up as well. Invited or not\, at some point during the night\, they are going to take the stage and wow the crowd with their classic honky tonk and western music. The combination of these two bands (who bear some resemblance) makes this one world-class evening of entertainment\, a rare event not to be missed.
