DESCRIPTION:Over the past two decades\, award-winning singer\, songwriter\, guitarist and contemporary blues artist Keb’ Mo’ has cultivated a reputation as a modern master of American roots music through the understated excellence of his live and studio performances. In his newest release\, Keb’ Mo’ Live – That Hot Pink Blues Album (Kind of Blue Music; 4/15/16)\, Keb’ delivers some of his best material in the most authentic form\, through live recordings. Recorded while on tour in 2015\, the double-disc album features 16 live recorded songs from Keb’ Mo’s extensive catalog.  Several of the tracks are songs off his most recent album\, BLUESAmericana\, which garnered Keb’ Mo’ a 2015 Blues Music Award from the Blues Foundation\, three 2015 GRAMMY award nominations and multiple other achievements.  B.B. King\, Buddy Guy\, the Dixie Chicks\, Joe Cocker\, Robert Palmer and Tom Jones have all recorded his songs. His guitar playing has inspired leading instrument makers Gibson Brands to issue the Keb’ Mo’ Signature Bluesmaster acoustic guitar and Martin Guitars to issue the HD-28KM Keb’ Mo’ Limited Edition Signature model. He has collaborated with a host of artists\, including Bonnie Raitt\, Jackson Brown\, Cassandra Wilson\, Buddy Guy\, Amy Grant\, Solomon Burke\, Little Milton and many others. Keb’ also wrote and performed the theme song for the smash sitcom\, “Mike & Molly\,” and was music composer for TV’s “Memphis Beat.” He has also been featured in TV and film\, playing Robert Johnson in the 1998 documentary “Can’t You Hear The Wind Howl\,” appeared three times on the television series\, “Touched By an Angel\,” and was the ghostly bluesman Possum in John Sayles’ 2007 movie\, “Honeydripper.” Keb’ is very involved with the Playing For Change movement\, which was created to inspire\, connect and bring peace to the world through music. He has been involved with Playing For Change since its inception and has been featured in many related videos and events. Keb’ was featured on the Playing For Change album: Playing for Change 3: Songs Around the World\, which was released in 2014 and features over 180 musicians from 31 countries\, including Keith Richards\, Sara Bareilles\, David Hidalgo\, Cesar Rosas\, Taj Mahal and many others.

SUMMARY:Ferris Beuller's Day Off
DESCRIPTION:September First Friday: Back to School Movie Night\n“Life moves pretty fast. If you don’t stop and look around once in a while\, you could miss it.” No\, it was not Confucius that said that. It was that sage of sages\, Ferris Bueller\, as played (unforgettably\, most would argue) by Matthew Broderick. \nSandwiched in between PRETTY IN PINK and SOME KIND OF WONDERFUL\, screenwriter John Hughes told a different kind of high school story in FERRIS BUELLER’S DAY OFF\, which became the biggest box office hit of his directorial career\, grossing just over $70 million in 1986 (that was more than the combined takes of THE BREAKFAST CLUB and WEIRD SCIENCE\, his two previous films). Instead of focusing on teenage cliques or young lovers from two different worlds\, Hughes instead turned his attention to something nearly everyone does at one time or another: playing hooky. And nobody played it better than Ferris. \nBreaking the “fourth wall” was a big idea in the mid-1980s — Tom Stoppard’s characters were doing it on Broadway in plays like THE REAL INSPECTOR HOUND and Cybill Shepherd and Bruce Willis did it multiple times in episodes of MOONLIGHTING — and Ferris frequently tells his story directly to us throughout the movie. And what a tale it is\, involving a snotty sister (Jennifer Grey)\, a borderline-deranged principal (Jeffrey Jones)\, a scared-of-everything best friend named Cameron (Alan Ruck)\, a lovely and up-for-anything girlfriend named Sloane (Mia Sara)\, a stolen Ferrari\, a parade\, a memorable appearance by Charlie Sheen (only a few months before PLATOON would make him a star)\, a near-comatose teacher (Ben Stein) who keeps droning “Bueller? Bueller? Bueller?”\, a severly stuck-up waiter who wails “I weep for the future!” and so much more. While FERRIS BUELLER is much rowdier and goofier than THE BREAKFAST CLUB and PRETTY IN PINK\, underneath it all is the same general message: The best part of high school is getting out of it. Through her own experiences\, she explores issues our society still collectively struggles with (LGBTQ rights\, teen mental health\, our unhealthy obsession with staying forever young) and gently skewers our tendency to dwell on the past at the expense of addressing the present. As she sings on the title track: “We look at ourselves in a long row of mirrors/We get smaller and smaller with each passing year/We have to keep moving or die.” \n \nGurf Morlix\nOnce\, when asked by a promoter for a copy of his biography\, Gurf Morlix responded with just two words\, “Legendary integrity.”  He would later admit that his response was perhaps a bit pompous\, “but true\,” he added.  “Well\, half true anyway.”  The story is a telling one\, demonstrating not only Morlix’s directness\, which is famous amongst his musical colleagues – or perhaps infamous\, depending on who you ask – but also his dry sense of humor and no-bullshit approach to life\, music\, and the music business. \nHad he sent the promoter a more traditional bio\, it likely would have noted that Gurf was born outside Lackawanna\, New York (near Buffalo)\, saw the Beatles on Ed Sullivan\, formed a band (in which Peter Case made his stage debut)\, moved to Los Angeles\, worked for more than a decade as Lucinda Williams’ guitarist\, band-leader and backing vocalist\, produced Lucinda’s acclaimed Sweet Old World and eponymous albums\, famously left Lucinda\, toured with Warren Zevon\, moved to Austin\, befriended Blaze Foley\, produced a number of classic Americana albums you likely own if you are any kind of Americana music fan\, played on many more albums you probably own if you fall into that category\, received the Americana Music Association’s “Instrumentalist of the Year” award\, went on to make seven critically acclaimed albums of his own\, and then toured the world supporting them.  He now continues to play live\, produce albums for artists that move him\, and make his own albums.  He even goes fishing every once in a while. \nOnline:\ngurfmorlix.com/\nFacebook

Mr. Hagen created 3 tenor roles in the world premier of The Lost Dauphane for Pamiro Opera airing on PBS. He has performed a vast array of operatic roles ranging from Alfredo in La Traviata\, to the title role of Otello for Cleveland Opera on tour. Mr. Hagen is highly regarded for his performances of the Verdi Requiem and Beethoven’s Symphony No. 9\, having performed these works with more than a dozen symphonies across the United States. I Love You\, Semi-Pro\, Delirious\, 30 Rock\, Sex and the City\, recurring roles on One Life To Live and As The World Turns\, and a Guest VJ on MTV’s TRL. One of his favorite roles was appearing as Edward Carnby in the video game Alone in the Dark for Eden Games in 2008. \nJC FISHER\nJC has entertained audiences around the world for the past 15 years. In high school\, he had a passion for sports and also enjoyed singing in church. He discovered a deeper love for singing at Wichita State University where he earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Music. JC performed various roles including Rodolfo in La Boheme\, Tamino in The Magic Flute\, Ernesto in Don Pasquale\, Henrick in A Little Night Music and even Miss America’s duet partner at the 1997 Miss Kansas Pageant.         After college\, JC traveled to Lucca\, Italy where he sang in the Puccini festival under the direction of acclaimed Italian maestro Lorenzo Malfatti. He then created a home base in Katy\, TX before sailing the high seas aboard more than 75 cruise ships worldwide as a guest entertainer. This allowed JC to create a show featuring many different genres of music and world class arrangements\, which eventually led to his idea of forming The Texas Tenors. After many years of traveling and concerts\, his most memorable performance is still one from college where he found his future wife. DESCRIPTION:The year 2015 marked the 45th Anniversary of perennial classic-rock favorite\, America. Founding members\, Gerry Beckley and Dewey Bunnell (along with former band mate Dan Peek) met in high school in London in the late 1960s and quickly harmonized their way to the top of the charts on the strength of their signature song “A Horse With No Name”. America became a global household name and paved the way with an impressive string of hits following the success of their first #1 single.  Forty plus years later\, these friends are still making music together\, touring the world and thrilling audiences with their timeless sound. \n \nAmerica’s journey has found them exploring a wide variety of musical terrain.  Their best-known tunes\, which also include “I Need You\,” “Ventura Highway\,” “Don’t Cross The River\,” “Tin Man\,” “Lonely People\,” and “Sister Golden Hair” were cornerstones of 1970’s Top 40 and FM rock radio. Yet beyond their impressive catalog of hits\, listeners would discover there was always much more to America than surface perceptions. The combination of Gerry Beckley’s melodic pop rock and Dewey Bunnell’s use of folk-jazz elements\, slinky Latin-leaning rhythms and impressionistic lyric imagery contrasted well with Dan Peek’s more traditional country-rock leanings and highly personal lyrics. \nAmerica’s albums–six certified gold and/or platinum\, with their first greatest hits collection\, History\, hitting four plus million in sales–displayed a fuller range of the trio’s talents than did their singles. Their material encompassed an ambitious artistic swath; from effects-laden rockers to oddball medleys to soul-bearing ballads\, America displayed a flawless blend of disparate genres and styles as wide-open as the great American plains. \nEnjoying massive success early in their career\, America earned their stripes as musical soldiers on the battlefield amidst the excess\, craziness and chaos of the 70’s. The trio won the Grammy® for Best New Artist in 1972 and began\nworking with George Martin and Geoff Emerick in 1974.  This successful team\nwent on to record seven albums and several Top Ten hits\, including “Tin Man” and “Sister Golden Hair”. \nBy the mid-70s\, inter-band conflicts combined with an exhaustive touring and recording schedule exacted its toll on the group. With Peek’s departure from the fold in 1977\, Gerry Beckley & Dewey Bunnell rose to the challenge and carried on as a duo. Shifts in sound and direction\, changes in producers and managers\, and a renewed dedication to the craft of songwriting helped rocket America to the upper reaches of the pop charts in 1982 with their smash single\, “You Can Do Magic.”  During this tumultuous time in their career\, Beckley and Bunnell immersed themselves in their craft\, infusing a newfound maturity into their rich body of work. Chasiti has been singing since she was able to talk and has continued to follow her love for music throughout her whole life! She has been in several talent shows\, choir concerts and anything associated with music! She is currently a child care provider at Sandhill Childcare in Reno\, Ohio and plans to go to college to get a bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education to become a Kindergarten teacher. “Although\, no matter what I pursue in life…music and singing will always be a part of me\, wherever life takes me\,” says Chasiti! \n  \n \nJohn Kunze\, a local country music singer/songwriter originally from Parkersburg\, WV and currently living in Belpre\, Ohio. John is the 2016 West Virginia/Ohio State winner of the local and state rounds of the country’s largest country music competition\, the Country Showdown. His musical influence comes from his love of the outdoors\, hard work\, friends and family. John’s favorite part of playing music is meeting new people\, which he considers friends and listening to their stories and experience. \nJohn is also a new Nashville recording artist with plans to release his first CD into the national country music market in 2018. \n  \n \nThe Steve Hussey Band\, a singer/songwriter and producer from Washington\, West Virginia. Steve has been playing professionally for almost 20 years in various bands including Stuck on Amber\, The Steve Hussey Band\, and Luvbox. He has entertained clubs\, fairs and festivals\, and private parties all over the east coast. \nHe bought a Yamaha FG acoustic guitar and an Eagles book of chords when he was 19.
