SUMMARY:Bonnie & Clyde
DESCRIPTION:Love seeing classics on the big screen?\nSave on movie tickets! Get tickets for 5 or more of our upcoming films for just $5 each. Click here. \n111 min\nR\n1967 \nProducer/star Warren Beatty had to convince Warner Bros. to finance this film\, which went on to become the studio’s second-highest grosser. Based loosely on the true exploits of Clyde Barrow and Bonnie Parker during the 30s\, the film begins as Clyde (Beatty) tries to steal the car of Bonnie Parker (Faye Dunaway)’s mother. Bonnie is excited by Clyde’s outlaw demeanor\, and he further stimulates her by robbing a store in her presence. Clyde steals a car\, with Bonnie in tow\, and their legendary crime spree begins. The two move from town to town\, pulling off small heists\, until they join up with Clyde’s brother Buck (Gene Hackman)\, his shrill wife Blanche (Estelle Parsons)\, and a slow-witted gas station attendant named C.W. Moss (Michael J. Pollard). The new gang robs a bank and Clyde is soon painted in the press as a Depression-era Robin Hood when he allows one bank customer to hold onto his money. Soon the police are on the gang’s trail and they are constantly on the run\, even kidnapping a Texas Ranger (Denver Pyle) and setting him adrift on a raft\, handcuffed\, after he spits in Bonnie’s face when she kisses him. That same ranger leads a later raid on the gang that leaves Buck dying\, Blanche captured\, and both Clyde and Bonnie injured. The ever-loyal C.W. takes them to his father’s house. C.W.’s father disaproves his son’s affiliation with gangsters and enters a plea bargain with the Texas Rangers. The film made stars out of Beatty and Dunaway\, and it also featured the screen debut of Gene Wilder as a mortician briefly captured by the gang. Its portrayal of Bonnie and Clyde as rebels who empathized with the poor working folks of the 1930s struck a chord with the counterculture of the 1960s and helped generate a new\, young audience for American movies that carried over into Hollywood’s renewal of the 1970s. \nCast: \nWarren Beatty\nFaye Dunaway\nMichael J. SUMMARY:Groundhog Day
DESCRIPTION:Love seeing classics on the big screen?\nSave on movie tickets! Get tickets for 5 or more of our upcoming films for just $5 each. Click here. \n101 min\nPG\n1993 \nBill Murray plays Phil\, a TV weatherman working for a local station in Pennsylvania but convinced that national news stardom is in his grasp. Phil displays a charm and wit on camera that evaporates the moment the red light goes off; he is bitter\, appallingly self-centered\, and treats his co-workers with contempt\, especially his producer Rita (Andie MacDowell) and cameraman Larry (Chris Elliot). On February 2\, 1992\, Phil\, Rita\, and Larry are sent on an assignment that Phil especially loathes: the annual Groundhog Day festivities in Punxsutawney\, PA\, where the citizens await the appearance of Punxsutawney Phil\, the groundhog who will supposedly determine the length of winter by his ability to see his own shadow. Phil is eager to beat a hasty retreat\, but when a freak snowstorm strands him in Punxsutawney\, he wakes up the next morning with the strangest sense of déjà vu: he seems to be living the same day over again. The next morning it happens again\, and then again. Soon\, no matter what he does\, he’s stuck in February 2\, 1992; not imprisonment nor attempted suicide nor kidnapping the groundhog gets him out of the loop. But the more Phil relives the same day\, the more he’s forced to look at other people’s lives\, and something unusual happens: he begins to care about others. He starts to respect people\, he tries to save the life of a homeless man\, and he discovers that he’s falling in love with Rita and therefore wants to be someone that she could love in return. \nCast \nBill Murray\nAndie MacDowell\nChris Elliott\nStephen Tobolowsky\nBrian Doyle-Murray\nMarita Geraghty

SUMMARY:Casee Allen
DESCRIPTION:A benefit concert for the Boys & Girls Club of Washington County \nDespite growing up in the small country town of Coshocton\, Ohio\, Allen carries an eclectic variety of musical influences like Def Leppard\, Garth Brooks\, Justin Timberlake\, Goo Goo Dolls and Neal McCoy but truly has his family’s musical history to thank for his uniquely edgy\, country infused sound\, “A lot of my family-members were singers. From 80’s rock to blues and modern country\, they covered it all.”\n\nAfter opening for Kip Moore\, the chart-topping Country rocker gave Allen the advice\, “Quit everything you’re doing\, move to Nashville and write your ass off\,” and Allen did exactly that. The very next day the hopeful singer-songwriter packed his things to seek out Music City for himself and within weeks was calling Nashville “home.”\n\nShortly after arriving in Music City\, the singer-songwriter signed a co-management deal with music industry veterans Herb Graham and Shawn Pennington\, followed by signing a publishing deal. Allen is also now part of the world-renowned William Morris Endevour’s artist roster.\n\nSince starting his musical journey\, the tenacious newcomer has performed alongside chart-topping acts such as Jake Owen\, Kip Moore\, Brad Paisley\, Chris Janson and Parmalee\, and had a full-circle moment when given the opportunity to play alongside childhood hero\, Neal McCoy.\n\nAllen continues to captivate audiences across the country with his high energy performance and charismatic spirit\, “I can’t describe the overwhelming feeling I get every time I walk on the stage. The energy from the crowd is contagious\, I get a high from it every time! That\, and of course my son Jace\, are what keep me grindin’ every day.

SUMMARY:The Aluminum Show
DESCRIPTION:Presented with support from Dr. Shane & Tatum Parmer and Copperleaf Interior Design Studio \n \nThis new and unique show brings the material\, the music and the artists together on stage in a magical\, mystery-filled creation combining visual theater\, dance\, and humor into an exciting\, multi-sensory experience\, the likes of which audiences have never before seen. \nThis is the story of one man’s incredible journey to a parallel universe – a futuristic planet made entirely of aluminum. At first glance this world seems vastly different than ours\, but a second glance reveals it is actually quite similar. \nAluminum pipes come to life right before the audience’s very eyes\, transforming into imaginary\, mysterious\, and playful characters. Much like in our world\, the aluminum universe is also plagued by a fight between good and evil\, where the forces of beauty and compassion strive to triumph over the forces of intrigue and fear. \nThe new show was written and directed by Lior Kalfo\, creator of the internationally successful shows “Voca People\,” “Fantasy\,” and “Glow\,” with choreography by Ido Tadmor\, one of Israel’s foremost choreographers\, and under the artistic direction of Ilan Azriel\, co-creator of the international Aluminum Show. \nThe show is suitable for all ages.

SUMMARY:Sinatra Forever
DESCRIPTION:$22 / $28 / $34 \nPresented with support from Theisen Brock and Dr. Mark & Tammy Cinalli. \nRick Michel\, who has performed and headlined in Las Vegas since 1981\, presents “Sinatra Forever\,” focusing totally on the music of Frank Sinatra. Michel salutes and interprets the Ol’ Blue Eyes standards. Michel has been called: \n“The closest thing to Sinatra we have ever heard” by “Variety.” \n \nMichel\, a master impressionist for more than 40 years\, has been touring his “Sinatra Forever” show around the country as well as internationally with performances in Canada\, Mexico and Chile. \nMichel has shared the stage with many celebrities including Rich Little\, Mickey Rooney\, John Byner and Sherman Hemsley; opened for comics such as Bobby Collins\, John Pinette\, Rita Rudner and George Wallace; and performed impersonations for such luminaries as Frank Sinatra\, President Gerald Ford\, Tony Curtis and Steve Allen. \nIn 1994\, Michel shared the spotlight with Rich Little playing Bob Hope to Little’s Bing Crosby and Jerry Lewis to his Dean Martin. Little called Michel “one of the best impressionists around today.” \nFor Michel\, a memorable highlight came when he performed his impression of Bob Hope for the comedic icon himself at the Bob Hope Celebrity Golf Classic in Palm Springs. He also made appearances in an episode of “Baywatch” playing a schizophrenic killer\, and on “Entertainment Tonight\,” “America’s Funniest People” and the “Larry King Show.” \nIn 1989\, Michel moved to Las Vegas. In 1999\, David Cassidy saw Michel performing his impression of Sinatra with a 22-piece orchestra and asked him to be the understudy for his show “The Rat Pack is Back” at the Desert Inn. He played the Sinatra\, Dean Martin and Joey Bishop roles\, and when the show moved to the Sahara in 2000\, played Martin for its 25-month run. \nGiving back to the community\, Michel is involved in several charity events including the Salvation Army Christmas Toys for Tots\, Fox 5 “Take 5 for Kids” Suitcase Drive\, Help Them Walk Again Foundation and Make a Difference Day.

SUMMARY:Patton
DESCRIPTION:A Special Veterans Day Showing! \nFREE ADMISSION \nRated PG \nJoin us for a special Veterans Day screening of this 1970 American epic biographical war film about U.S. General George S. Patton during World War II. In 1943 North Africa\, George Patton (George C. Scott) assumes command of (and instills some much-needed discipline in) the American forces. Engaged in battle against Germany’s Field Marshal Rommel (Karl Michael Vogler)\, Patton drives back “The Desert Fox” by using the German’s own tactics. Promoted to Lieutenant General\, Patton is sent to Sicily\, where he engages in a personal war of egos with British Field Marshal Montgomery (Michael Bates). Performing brilliantly in Italy\, Patton seriously jeopardizes his future with a single slap. While touring an Army hospital\, the General comes across a GI (Tim Considine) suffering from nervous fatigue. Incensed by what he considers a slacker\, Patton smacks the poor soldier and orders him to get well in a hurry. This incident results in his losing his command-and\, by extension\, missing out on D-Day. In his final campaign\, Patton leads the US 3rd Army through Europe. Unabashedly flamboyant\, Patton remains a valuable resource\, but ultimately proves too much of a “loose cannon” in comparison to the more level-headed tactics of his old friend Omar Bradley (Karl Malden). Patton won 7 Academy Awards\, including Best Picture and Best Actor for Scott\, an award that he refused.

SUMMARY:Larry & Sandra Groce & Todd Burge
DESCRIPTION:$20 in advance. $25 at the door. \nThe “Our Albums Are Released Tour”  2016 \nLarry Groce\nwww.larrygroce.com\nGrammy Nominee & Mountain Stage host Larry Groce and his wife Sandra Groce\, violist with the West Virginia Symphony\, have made a new studio recording called “Live Forever.” (Produced by Don Dixon) It includes three of Larry’s original songs and eight covers\, mostly songs connected to Mountain Stage over the years. This very well received recording is Groce’s first album in over two decades. \n“this album demonstrates that [Larry] should not have stayed away so long. While the album consists of mostly covers of songs done by artists who appeared on the show — such as Townes Van Zandt\, Jesse Winchester\, and Billy Joe Shaver — the originals are the treasures.  Most notably\, ‘What Do You Think About (When You Think Of Love)\,’ which was inspired by the great American writer Raymond Carver. In it\, Groce becomes the Robert Altman of song…’When the Mist Clears Away’…captures West Virginia\, in all its magnificence and obscurity\, like few others”  Amos Perrine – No Depression \nListen to Larry Groce with Ray Wylie Hubbard  – Live Forever: \n \nTodd Burge\nwww.toddburge.com \nTodd Burge has a new album out as well entitled “Live from Mountain Stage 2006-2015”. The CD includes 17 tracks of original material.  Larry Groce has called Burge “WV’s premier songwriter”.\n“Like a Randy Newman with a guitar\, he’s also been described as a Warren Zevon who can evoke bizarre characters and situations….hearing Burge live takes the cake. The only other live Mountain Stage albums by a single artist are by Jesse Winchester and Laura Nyro\, so Burge is in good company. “ Amos Perrine – No Depression \nWatch Todd Burge Live on Mountain Stage \n \n

SUMMARY:The Capitol Steps
DESCRIPTION:$28 / $38 / $48 \nSponsored by Mattresmax \n \nOVER 30 YEARS AGO\, the Capitol Steps began as a group of Senate staffers who set out to satirize the very people and places that employed them. In the years that followed\, many of the Steps ignored the conventional wisdom (“Don’t quit your day job!”)\, and although not all of the current members of the Steps are former Capitol Hill staffers\, taken together the performers have worked in a total of eighteen Congressional offices and represent 62 years of collective House and Senate staff experience. \nSince they began\, the Capitol Steps have recorded over 35 albums\, including their latest\, What to Expect When You’re Electing. They’ve been featured on NBC\, CBS\, ABC\, and PBS\, and can be heard twice a year on National Public Radio stations nationwide during their Politics Takes a Holiday radio specials. \nThe Capitol Steps were born in December\, 1981 when some staffers for Senator Charles Percy were planning entertainment for a Christmas party. Ronald Reagan was President when the Steps began\, so co-founders Elaina Newport\, Bill Strauss and Jim Aidala figured that if entertainers could become politicians\, then politicians could become entertainers! Their first idea was to stage a nativity play\, but in the whole Congress they couldn’t find three wise men or a virgin! So\, they decided to dig into the headlines of the day\, and created song parodies & skits which conveyed a special brand of satirical humor that was as popular in Peoria as it was on Pennsylvania Avenue. \nMost cast members have worked on Capitol Hill; some for Democrats\, some for Republicans\, and others for politicians who firmly straddle the fence. No matter who holds office\, there’s never a shortage of material. Says Elaina Newport\, “Typically the Republicans goof up\, and the Democrats party. Then the Democrats goof up and the Republicans party. That’s what we call the two-party system.” \nALTHOUGH the Capitol Steps are based in Washington\, DC\, most of their shows are out-of-town or for out-of-town audiences\, whether it’s the National Welding Supply Association\, a University audience\, High Schoolers\, or State Legislators. In fact\, the Capitol Steps have performed for the last 5 Presidents (6\, if you include Hillary). The only complaints the Steps seem to get are from politicians and personalities who are not included in the program! \nNo matter who or what is in the headlines\, you can bet the Capitol Steps will tackle both sides of the political spectrum and all things equally foolish. What more would you expect from the group that puts the “MOCK” in Democracy?!
