DESCRIPTION:THIS SHOW IS SOLD OUT!\nWhen Charlie Starr started writing the songs that would become Blackberry Smoke’s new album\, Be Right Here\, the first tune the vocalist/lead guitarist worked up was “Dig A Hole.” Formed by an old guitar riff married with a Wurlitzer chorus riff written by keyboardist Brandon Still\, the swampy psychedelic-rock song is a powerful statement about choosing your path in life—whether you want to give into temptation or walk a more righteous road. \n“In life\, we all are faced with choices\,” Starr says. “Are we going to do good\, or are we going to do bad? Are we going to love\, or are we going to hate? We have a finite amount of time\, each of us on this Earth. So probably want to make the best out of it instead of wasting time.” \n“Dig A Hole” is the lead track on Be Right Here and sets the tone for another expansive set of rock ‘n’ roll from Blackberry Smoke. As always\, the Georgia-based band—Starr\, Still\, guitarist/vocalist Paul Jackson\, bassist/vocalist Richard Turner and drummer Brit Turner—draw inspiration from Southern rock\, blues-leaning classic rock and rootsy vintage country. But on Be Right Here\, Blackberry Smoke sound even more self-assured\, from the strength of their songwriting to their musical execution. \nOver the past two decades\, Blackberry Smoke has developed this confidence and amassed a loyal fanbase\, leading their last five full-length albums to achieve great chart success\, including 2021’s You Hear Georgia\, which reached #1 on Billboard’s Americana/Folk Albums chart. \nThe band wrote and recorded You Hear Georgia during the most intense periods of the pandemic but held off on releasing it until they could go tour again. Starr says Blackberry Smoke took the same deliberate approach with Be Right Here\, which was recorded in late 2022 and early 2023\, around the same time drummer Brit Turner was diagnosed with a type of brain tumor known as Glioblastoma. “We didn’t feel a whole lot of pressure to go in and make this one quickly\,” Starr shares. \nWorking once again with Grammy-Award winning producer Dave Cobb\, Blackberry Smoke has crafted music that’s raw and immediate-sounding. They tracked the album live in the same space; an approach Cobb also prefers as it lends itself to a looser vibe. “I remember different times I would say\, ‘I think we should redo that\,’ and he’s like\, ‘No\, leave it that way. That way it’s magical\,” Starr remembers. “It’s just as natural and real as possible.” \nLocation also factored into Be Right Here’s sound as they recorded most of the album at Nashville’s beloved RCA Studio A\, and then polished it off in Cobb’s studio in Savannah\, Georgia. “It’s down in the low country and beautiful\,” Starr says of the space\, called Georgia Mae. “This album has a swagger to it\, a deep in the pocket kind of feel. Those surroundings helped give the record that feel.” \nBe Right Here’s lyrics are particularly literary\, full of vivid and relatable characters that ensure the songs often resemble rich short stories. For example\, “Whatcha Know Good\,” a co-write with Brent Cobb\, is a “feel-good song” driven by an amiable narrator who gets along with everybody and dislikes negativity. “There’s plenty of bad news when you turn on the television\,” Starr says. “The dude in this song\, he doesn’t want to hear it anymore. He wants to go to fishing and talk about good news. We were giggling the whole time because we know that guy. Maybe we are that guy.” \nA laid-back\, Stones-like guitar lick from former Buckcherry guitarist Keith Nelson inspired “Like It Was Yesterday\,” helping Starr conjure another very specific character: an earnest young guy who doesn’t have much life experience\, but knows what he likes and is grateful for good times. “I picture him laying on the hood of his car with his girl\, staring up at the moon and the stars\,” Starr says. “It’s the idea of holding onto that fleeting moment\, because it can slip away from you.” \nOther Be Right Here highlights include “Azalea” and “Little Bit Crazy\,” both co-written with Starr’s frequent songwriting collaborator Travis Meadows. The latter song\, which begins with a chorus of soulful gospel singers before blooming into a languid Southern rocker\, features a narrator who’s embroiled in a relationship that’s fun\, but not necessarily healthy. \nMeanwhile\, the lovely\, elegiac folk ballad “Azalea” is centered on someone who seems emotionally bereft and spiritually lost\, but is working hard to find their way home. “It’s a heavy song. It’s not a happy song\, per se\,” Starr says. However\, “Azalea” has a distinct streak of optimism near the end\, which Starr says is intentional: “There’s some hope in there\, too. It comes with both Travis and I being fathers. Hold on to your kids as tight as you can without smothering them.” \nThe delicate balance of familial protection also permeates the easygoing “Other Side of the Light\,” a co-write with Levi Lowrey. Written from the perspective of a young boy on an obstacle-filled road trip\, the tune stresses that he’ll find shelter and safety with his mom. In contrast\, the stomping “Hammer and the Nail\,” which Starr wrote with Nelson\, takes another approach to family ties—in this case\, a son who needs to decide if he’s going to give into his wild side and take after his rebellious father. Fittingly\, lively acoustic guitar gives way to an explosive chorus with freewheeling bar-blues piano and raucous electric riffs. \nBe Right Here ends on a confident note\, the organ-driven power ballad\, “Barefoot Angel.” Starr says he doesn’t write many love songs\, but made an exception here. “It’s either me singing about my wife or some guy singing about his wife that’s in the same situation\, which is\, I wouldn’t be able to do anything without her. When I’m worried and feeling bad\, she makes it better.”\nFor Blackberry Smoke\, embracing the light and finding the silver lining are once again at the heart of what they do best. \n  \n\n  \n\nOpening Act: Sam Morrow\n  \n \n  \n\n\n\nFive albums into an acclaimed career\, Sam Morrow has carved out a sound that exists somewhere outside of genre and geography. It’s his own version of modern-day American roots music: a mix of roadhouse rock & roll\, bluesy R&B\, and country-fried funky-tonk\, driven forward by groove\, grease\, and guitars. \nIt’s also a sound that owes as much to the road — where Morrow spent most of the past decade on tour\, supporting albums like Concrete & Mud and Gettin’ By On Gettin’ Down — as the various places he’s called home. This is music for the fast lane. Music for empty highways. Music for people who\, like Morrow\, always seem to find themselves in transit. \n“I feel like I’m searching for something\,” he says. “I’ve been on some kind of journey. Maybe I don’t know what I’m looking for\, exactly\, but I’m keeping my eyes open.” \nOn The Ride Here marks the latest leg of that journey. Morrow takes us along for the ride\, singing in a laidback Texas drawl about highway haunts (“Thunderbird Motel”)\, peyote trips in the Mojave Desert (“Searching For Paradise”)\, and the glamor and grind of the open road (“Hired Gun”). On The Ride Here offers more than roadside ephemera and travelogue tales\, though. Morrow isn’t just focused on the drive these days; he’s interested in the destination\, too\, and a number of these songs deal with the hard lessons and new perspectives that come with rest\, reflection\, and time spent at home. \nMorrow’s first home was in Houston\, Texas\, where he grew up developing not only an appreciation for punk\, hip-hop\, and ZZ Top\, but also an appetite for the vices that would land him in rehab while still a teenager. He eventually found sobriety in Los Angeles and chose to stay there\, trading his Texas roots for the California coast. Living far away from his birthplace gave Morrow a new appreciation for the country music he’d once ignored as a Texan. He began filtering those country sounds into his own music\, mashing them together with the southern boogie of Little Feat\, the electric blues of Freddie King\, the Tex-Mex of Los Lobos\, and the desert rock of Queens Of The Stone Age. Separately\, those influences might have sounded like strange bedfellows. Together\, though\, they formed the bedrock of Sam Morrow’s rootsy rock & roll. \nChampioned by outlets like NPR and Rolling Stone\, Morrow’s first four albums turned him into one of the West Coast’s biggest Americana exports. The appeal wasn’t just the swaggering\, swampy music itself; it was also the sharp storytelling and unfiltered insights of a songwriter who wasn’t afraid to shine a light on the skeletons in his closet. Balancing honesty with self-deprecating humor\, Morrow became a working-class hero for those struggling to follow the straight and narrow. On The Ride Here finds him in that same position. He measures the distance between the sins of his youth and the challenges of his present with “Medicine Man\,” a stomping\, riff-driven rocker with a slide guitar solo worthy of Joe Walsh. “Searching For Paradise” finds him in Hunter S. Thompson mode\, recounting a hallucinogenic trip in the California desert over a backdrop of greasy\, East L.A. country-funk. The loose\, laidback “On My Way” finds him asking a lover for patience\, promising her that his best days are ahead. A similar message anchors “Straight and Narrow\,” which trades the fiery fretwork of the \n\n\n\n\n\n\nalbum’s louder moments — played by Morrow and guest guitarist Eli Wulfmeier — for the cooling calm of Hammond B3 organ. “I was tripped by sin; I walked the line and I fell halfway in\,” Morrow sings before laying out his credentials as a changed man\, promising that “I’m a new man with a new suit.” \nOn The Ride Here was produced in Southern California by longtime collaborator Eric Corne\, with an all-star roster of West Coast musicians — including bassist Ted Russell Kamp\, keyboardist Sasha Smith\, and drummers Matt Tecu and Butch Norton — adding primal punch and roughhewn polish to the 11 songs. Morrow rewrote several tunes after the initial tracking sessions were complete\, looking to deliver the tightest\, tautest album of his career. The result is a forward-thinking record that encapsulates his sound better than any album before it\, serving as the final piece of a musical trilogy that began with the country-inspired Concrete & Mud and the rock-influenced Gettin’ By On Gettin’ Down. \n“When I was first getting sober\, somebody told me that I need to wake up early in the morning and tell myself I don’t know shit\, because that’s the only way I’m gonna learn something new that day\,” Morrow says. “I think it’s a simplified way of just taking your ego out of the situation. Just after the band has played the signature intro to “Louisiana Woman\, Mississippi Man\,” Tre Twitty and Tayla Lynn shoot each other a glance that summons the electrifying chemistry of their grandparents: Tre is the grandson of Conway Twitty\, Tayla is the granddaughter of Loretta Lynn.\nAudiences can’t believe their eyes. From that moment\, for the next 90 minutes\, they’re in the presence of living country music history.\n“Fans have told Tayla and me that when they see us onstage singing\, talking\, and just looking at each other\, they think\, ‘Wow\, there must be something genetic in those two families\,’” Tre says. “It validates the experience of the concert for them. At our shows\, we get generations of fans because country music is passed down.”\n“It’s about family — the fans’ families and our own\,” Tayla says. “We have so much love and respect for Conway and Loretta and we want to carry this on in such a way that we make our families proud.”\nLoretta herself was impressed. The Country Music Hall of Fame member helped her granddaughter and Tre with their show and had the same time-traveling experience that today’s audiences do while watching them perform. “Memaw just loved it. It brought up so many memories of Conway for her and took her back to a place in her life when they were building their careers. She’d always say that Tre has Conway’s heart\,” says Tayla\, who lives at Lynn’s Tennessee ranch and used to tour with her grandmother\, cuddling up together in the bus’s bedroom to watch old movies while on the road. “We were very close\,” she says.\nTayla first had the idea for the show after witnessing Tre perform Conway’s songs during a concert at the ranch. She approached him about teaming up and\, after a few shows to test the waters\, they embarked on a tour of Canada in 2018.“Even though we didn’t grow up together\, meeting each other wasn’t like meeting strangers\,” Tayla says. “It was like we had always known each other because we had the same experiences.”\nNow together as “Twitty & Lynn” for five years and poised to launch a huge summertime tour\, the duo has cultivated an audience and caught the attention of Nashville along the way. In 2022\, they made their debut on the world-famous Grand Ole Opry\, singing “Louisiana Woman\, Mississippi Man” on the very same circle of wood where Conway and Loretta once stood.\n\nThe duo credits their show’s popularity to the timeless songs of Conway and Loretta — duets like “After the Fire Is Gone” and “You’re the Reason Our Kids Are Ugly” are all in the set\, along with Conway and Loretta solo hits like “Hello\, Darlin’” and “Coal Miner’s Daughter.” But they’re also giving audiences a chance to relive a moment in time that ended far too soon: Conway and Loretta stopped touring together full-time in 1981\, and Conway died in 1993. “Conway has been gone30 years\,” Tre says. “Had Poppy lived\, I think there would have been a great second act for him and Loretta. There’s a lot of people that wanted to see that\, and we’re able to let them hear those songs and stories again.”\nTre and Tayla are busy forging their own artistic identities too. The duo has an album of originals (and a few covers) on the way. With Tayla as chief songwriter\, she and Tre have written songs for the project with Jeffrey Steele\, Mark Narmore\, Shelly Fairchild\, and their producer Scott Baggett. “We’re at a great time in country music and Americana\, where artists like Miranda Lambert\, Margo Price\, and all these funky country singers are embracing the Seventies style of Conway and Loretta. So when I’m writing\, I’m drawn to that\,” Tayla says. “We’re in a prime time to be doing our type of music.”\nThe pair also released a smoldering cover of Bruce Springsteen’s “I’m on Fire” in 2022\, with a haunting music video filmed on the New Jersey shore\, and cut a version of Conway and Loretta’s “Feelins’” — recorded the day after Loretta died last year. The raw emotion in the song is palpable. “It wasn’t planned out\,” Tre says. “We were going into the studio to record our original tracks and Memaw had died the day before. So we said\, ‘Let’s do one of her songs with Conway.’ There was this emotion in the room that we just couldn’t ignore.”\nHonest emotion\, along with Tre and Tayla’s innate chemistry\, is what defines their onstage performances. Whether they’re singing to each other or interacting with the audience\, there’s an easygoing authenticity that comes across. Tayla even talks to the crowd about her sobriety\, sharing a personal tale of struggle and redemption.\nIn the end\, though\, their goal is to entertain while\, at the same time\, honoring their grandparents. SUMMARY:The Esbenshade Series - Marietta College Presents:  Loudon Wainwright III
DESCRIPTION:Born in Chapel Hill\, N.C. in 1946\, Loudon Wainwright III came to fame when “Dead Skunk” became a Top 20 hit in 1972. He had studied acting at Carnegie-Mellon University but dropped out to partake in the Summer of Love in San Francisco and wrote his first song in 1968 (“Edgar\,” about a lobsterman in Rhode Island). \nHe was soon signed to Atlantic Records by Nesuhi Ertegun\, and after that was lured by Clive Davis to Columbia Records\, which released “Dead Skunk.” His songs have since been recorded by Bonnie Raitt\, Johnny Cash\, Earl Scruggs\, Kate & Anna McGarrigle\, his son Rufus Wainwright\, and Mose Allison\, among others. Wainwright has recorded 27 albums\, including his 2009 Grammy Award-winning High Wide & Handsome. \nIn 2022 Loudon released Lifetime Achievement\, an album of 15 original songs\, that established his singular talent as our foremost six-string tragicomedian\, not only undiminished\, but hitting new heights. The orchestration varies from solo performance to trio work with his longstanding musical cohorts\, Chaim Tannenbaum and David Mansfield\, to Nashville and Memphis-style little big bands\, to a full-blown string arrangement by Rob Moose. Loudon puts his latest achievement in the context of a lifetime of music making this way: “When I made my first record for Atlantic in 1969\, I wanted to make not only a recording\, but a document that captures a moment. Now\, fifty years later\, I guess I still want to make a testament of songs\, and I like to think they might last a while.” \nIn October of 2020 Loudon unveiled the album I’d Rather Lead a Band\, in which he is featured as a vocalist with Vince Giordano and The Nighthawks. The 14-song collection of classic songs from the 1920s and ‘30s was widely acclaimed. During the pandemic\, Wainwright has produced several virtual shows\, including The Special Relationship (presented by the Royal Albert Hall ) and The Great Unknown\, a musical tribute to his friend\, the late George Gerdes. Also featured in that show were Richard Thompson\, Suzanne Vega\, Steve Forbert\, and the members of Spinal Tap. \nIn Fall 2018\, Loudon released Years in the Making a 42-song treasury of rare and unreleased Loudoniana. This 2-disc\, 60-page hardbound audio-biography of his 40-year career includes orphaned album cuts\, lovingly made lo-fi home recordings\, radio appearances\, demos\, live performances and beyond. It features appearances by Kate McGarrigle\, Suzzy Roche\, Bill Frisell\, Van Dyke Parks\, Chaim Tannenbaum\, David Mansfield\, and the Wainwright children Rufus\, Martha\, Lucy\, and Lexie.

In 2017\, Wainwright published his memoir\, Liner Notes (Blue Rider Press)\, which led to appearances on Fresh Air with Terry Gross and WTF with Marc Maron. The New York Times said the book “makes your heart wobble on its axis.”

Wainwright also created a one-man theatrical show\, Surviving Twin\, which combines his songs and the writings of his late father. Initially developed as part of University of North Carolina’s Playmakers series\, it focuses on fatherhood—both being a father and having one—and also explores the issues of birth\, self-identity\, loss\, mortality\, fashion\, and of course\, pet ownership. Surviving Twin has been performed in limited theater engagements and is available as a Netflix special\, produced by Judd Apatow and directed by Christopher Guest. \nAdditionally\, Wainwright has co-written with songwriter/producer Joe Henry on the music for Judd Apatow’s hit movie Knocked Up\, written music for the British theatrical adaptation of the Carl Hiaasen novel Lucky You and composed topical songs for NPR’s Morning Edition and All Things Considered and ABC’s Nightline. An accomplished actor\, he has appeared in films directed by Martin Scorsese\, Hal Ashby\, Christopher Guest\, Tim Burton\, Cameron Crowe\, and Judd Apatow. Wainwright has also starred on TV in M.A.S.H. and Undeclared\, and on Broadway in Pump Boys and Dinettes. DESCRIPTION:Not every musician has the opportunity to revisit and even potentially improve upon their biggest hits. But on the forthcoming TEN to 1 record\, the award-winning band Lonestar—\nDean Sams (keyboards\, acoustic guitar\, background vocals)\, Michael Britt (lead guitarist\, background vocals )\, Keech Rainwater (drums) and Drew Womack (lead vocals\, guitar)—are taking a fresh look at all 10 of their chart-topping country songs. \nThis streak started in 1996 with the band’s second single\, the rock-edged “No News\,” and continued with the following year’s “Come Cryin’ to Me” and “Everything’s Changed.” The band’s quadruple-platinum 1999 album Lonely Grill spawned four No. 1 hits (including the beloved global smash “Amazed”) and established Lonestar as music’s preeminent pop-country band—a status they’d maintain through the 2000s and beyond. \nWith these re-recordings\, the band members were mindful of striking a balance between preserving the sonic elements fans were familiar with—and not repeating them. DESCRIPTION:Peoples Bank Theatre is excited to bring back the Missoula Children’s Theatre for a one week\, children’s theatre camp this year! This is a fantastic opportunity to introduce your children to the performing arts and we encourage children who are entering the 1st grade through 12th grade to audition. \n\n\n \n\n\nAuditions will be held for the Missoula Children’s Theatre production of Sleeping Beauty from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on Monday\, August 12th\, at Peoples Bank Theatre. Those auditioning should arrive at 10:00 a.m. and plan to stay for the full two hours. Most of the chosen cast members will be asked to stay for a rehearsal immediately following the audition.\n\n\n \n\n\nApproximately 50 to 60 roles are available for local students. All students entering 1st through 12th grade are encouraged to audition. One simple mistake is made-an invitation is misplaced-and the wrath of the vicious Scarella falls upon the poor infant in the form of a spell. \nSleeping Beauty is now destined to sleep for eternity if she should prick her finger on a spindle before she reaches her sixteenth birthday. Sleeping Beauty’s Fairy Godmothers do their best to amend the spell\, but Scarella\, with the help of some nasty Trolls\, tricks Sleeping Beauty into pricking her finger and the spell takes effect. \nFive hundred years pass and Sleeping Beauty wakes to find herself in a Rock ‘n Roll dream! Also featured in this production are the King and the Queen\, Spot\, the Fairies\, the Palace Attendants and the Caterpillars. SLEEPING BEAUTY-a Rock ‘n Roll Fable for the ages. DESCRIPTION:FireHouse has been rockin’ for over a decade. Their music has taken them allover the world and has produced Gold\, Platinum and Multi-Platinum records in the United States and countries abroad. In 1990\, their first album\, entitled FireHouse\, was released. The band’s first single\, Shake & Tumble\, had impressive radio success. \n  \nThe band then released Don’t Treat Me Bad\, which became their first Top Ten hit. This was followed by Love of a Lifetime\, which also entered the Top Ten\, reaching the #3 spot on the United States charts. This string of hits vaulted their first album to double platinum status in the United States; also going gold in Canada\, Japan and Singapore. At the 1991 American Music Awards\, FireHouse found themselves standing before the nation accepting the award f or Best New Hard Rock/Metal Band\, chosen over Nirvana and Alice in Chains. \n  \nThe band’s second album\, Hold Your Fire\, was released in 1992. It produced the hits Reach for the Sky and Sleeping with You. Another Top Ten hit\, When I Look into Your Eyes\, peaked on the United States chart sat #5. This album earned the band two more gold albums and over 1 million sales worldwide. In 1995\, FireHouse released their third album on Epic\, simply titled3. Once again\, FireHouse produced another Top Forty hit in the United States with I Live My Life For You. \n  \nIt was with this album that FireHouse made their first trip to Southeast Asia for a promotional tour. Earlier American hits like Don’t Treat Me Bad\, Love of a Lifetime and W hen I Look into Your Eyes had climbed the charts in Asia. Here for You\, the second single from3\, had also become a hit. The band then continued their promotional tour in South American countries such as Brazil and Argentina. Their fourth album\, Good Acoustics\, was released in 1996 and quickly went gold in Malaysia\, Thailand\, and Philippines. \n  \nGood Acoustics contains unplugged versions of the group’s greatest hits\, as well as four new songs. This album produced foreign hits such as In Your Perfect World\, Love Don’t Care and You Are My Religion. The band returned to Southeast Asia for another promotional tour at the end of 1996. Then\, in February 1997\, FireHouse embarked on their first concert tour of Southeast Asia playing sold out shows for fans in Indonesia\, Singapore\, Thailand\, and Japan. During May and June they toured the United States before returning to Southeast Asia in July for an unprecedented twenty-five city sold out tour of Indonesia. \nIn 1998\, FireHouse toured the United States on the Rock Never Stops tour\, which also included Slaughter\, Warrant\, Quiet Riot\, and LA Guns. October of1998 featured the Asian release of FireHouse’s fifth CD\, Category 5on Pony Canyon Records. The album quickly climbed to #4 on the Japanese charts\, and supporting promotional tour of Japan followed. Category 5 was officially released in the United States in 1999. \n  \nFireHouse continued touring through the winter and spring of 1999\, including3 more sold out shows in Tokyo\, Nagoya\, and Osaka. On April 22\, 1999\, the band recorded their live show in Osaka. The result – the first ever live album by FireHouse. Bring ‘em Out Live was released in Japan in December 1999and in the United States on Spitfire Records in July 2000.The turn of the century brought the release their seventh album\, titledO2. It has been released in SE Asia on Pony Canyon Records\, and in the US on Spitfire Records. This album had notable success despite the changing style of popular rock music. \n  \nDuring this time\, the band decided to part ways with original bass player\, Perry Richardson. O2’s remarkable bass playing was supplied by Bruce Waibel. Bruce brought to the band his phenomenal bass playing along with is equally impressive sense of humor. We truly regret to say that in September 2003\, Bruce has passed away. He will be greatly missed as a friend and talented musician. FireHouse headed back into the studio in early 2003 to write and record their8thalbum\,PRIME TIME. As music changes over time\, FireHouse continues to evolve their musical style; yet\, at the same time\, hang onto their hard rock roots. Released in October of 2003\, album number 8 is no exception. Lawn chairs are welcome! \n  \nThe Price Sisters band\, featuring twin sisters Leanna and Lauren Price\, showcases a traditional yet fresh and creative sound within the bluegrass and old-timey roots music world. Each member of the five-piece band is an accomplished musician in their own right\, while collectively the group is known for stellar harmonies and exciting instrumental performances. Since releasing their first full-length album on Rebel Records in 2018\, The Price Sisters have garnered four International Bluegrass Music Association Award nominations\, have performed on the Grand Ole Opry\, toured across the US and in Canada\, Germany\, Austria\, and Switzerland\, and have taken the stage at festivals such as ROMP and DelFest. Presently\, the group is especially eager to perform music from their brand new project “Between the Lines\,” a debut on McCoury Music produced by Ronnie McCoury\, released February 16th\, 2024.

DESCRIPTION:The 10-12 piece band ARRIVAL from Sweden in the production THE MUSIC OF ABBA was founded by Vicky Zetterberg-Norbäck and the ABBA original musician Rutger Gunnarsson in 1995 in Gothenburg\, Sweden and very soon became one of the world’s most popular and most selling ABBA show bands. Since the start in 1995 the band has toured in over 80 countries\, done almost 120 successful USA tours\, played with over 120 Symphony Orchestras all over the world and has appeared in several TV and radio shows all over the world. Selling out arenas seated up to 50 000 people. Millions of tickets sold. \n  \nARRIVAL from Sweden in the production “The Music of ABBA” has sold out arenas and venues all over the world since 1995 and is the absolute best and most authentic ABBA show there is. DESCRIPTION:ABOUT THE PRODUCTION: \n\nMarshall Charloff & Purple xPeRIeNCE is the most celebrated tribute to Prince in the world. The group was co-founded by Marshall and Matt “Doctor” Fink (keyboardist from Prince & The Revolution) in 2011\, an era where Prince closely monitored the use of his art. Their vision was to deliver Prince’s music on the highest level\, played live and untracked by skilled musicians\,\nwhile paying respectful visual homage through costuming and likeness. Immediately met with success and adoration from discerning Prince devotees\, the band has now been touring for over a decade\, nationwide and internationally\, and has performed for over 500\,000 fans. In 2019\, they were officially licensed by the Prince Estate\, and in 2021\, Marshall Charloff & The Purple xPeRIeNCE were selected by the US Department of State to be featured in the USA Pavilion of the World Expo in Dubai. The band continues to hold the unique distinction of playing the show 100% live\, completely untracked–paying true homage to the greatest musician of our time–Prince–with real musicianship. \n  \nMARSHALL CHARLOFF AS PRINCE: \n \nMinneapolis-native Marshall was raised in the epicenter of 1980’s music production\, and cut his musical teeth working with Superproducers John Fields and Steven “Funkytown” Greenberg. At\nage 19\, Marshall\, like Prince\, was discovered and signed by producer Pepe Willie. Marshall is featured on 94 East albums with Prince\, where he plays guitar and Prince is on vocals. A multi-instrumentalist\, composer\, and producer in his own right\, Marshall has written for\, produced\, and recorded for the multi-Platinum and Grammy award-winning Commodores and for Rock & Roll Hall of Fame’s Little Anthony & The Imperials. Marshall’s second original album\, “Unperfect” achieved the distinction of “Top 100 Albums of 2020” on global smooth jazz charts.\nMarshall has also played keys for the Atlanta Rhythm Section\, and has played bass guitar with Bobby “Z”\, Matt “Dr. Fink”\, and Andre Cymone (all Prince alumni players).\nIn addition to his work with The Purple xPeRIeNCE\, Marshall has had the honor of fronting 25 of the finest symphonies in North America\, performing the music of Prince to great acclaim. He has\nbeen the feature of two full-length PBS Broadcasts; fronting the Detroit Symphony Orchestra\, and fronting The Purple xPeRIeNCE in the iconic Red Rocks Amphitheater in Morrison\,\nColorado.\nMarshall completed a Las Vegas residency\, where he headlined starring in “Purple Piano: The World’s Only One-Man Tribute to Prince”–a highly-engaging show in the style of Prince’s final\ntour\, “Piano and a Microphone”. This production continues to tour nationwide\, interspersed with full band performances. SUMMARY:July First Friday Concert:  Lex Bauman
DESCRIPTION:The First Friday concerts will take place outside The Stage Door on Putnam Street\, creating the perfect ambiance for a Friday night out. Audiences are encouraged to bring their own lawn chairs and enjoy the music in a relaxed\, open-air setting. Each show begins at 6:00 p.m.\, so be sure to arrive early to secure your spot and soak in the festive atmosphere!  \nLex Bauman is a mix of classic cool and fun modern power pop. Lex started playing guitar at a very young age.  He immediately found his purpose in the sound and feel of the instrument.  \nHe began playing live shows with professional bands around the age of 10. In 2020\, when the world stopped\,  Lex doubled down on his commitment to music. He learned to write and record as well as putting in countless hours on guitar practice and\, seeing where his life was headed\, began working on his vocal skills.  As the world opened back up\, Lex began headlining his own shows and opening for national acts. Since\, he has entertained countless people and always puts on an amazing live show.  In 2023\, Lex began working on his biggest project to date. He enlisted Tuk Smith to co–write and produce his EP\, While We’re Still Young.  The EP is an explosion of power pop. With amazing melodies\, huge harmonies\, catchy lyrics and driving guitar hooks\, it will put you in mind of Avril Lavigne\, Cheap Trick or a rock n roll Taylor Swift.  GUNS N ROS  While We’re Still Young (the single) was released in January of 2024 and the EP of the same name will be released in the spring of 2024.

DESCRIPTION:Christopher Cross burst onto the music scene with his 1980 self-titled debut album\, winning five Grammy Awards\, including—for the first time in Grammy history—the “Big Four” most prestigious awards: Record of the Year (for the single “Sailing”)\, Album of the Year\, Song of the Year (also “Sailing”)\, and Best New Artist. \nIn a career spanning over five decades\, Cross has sold over 10 million albums. His music has garnered five Grammys\, an Oscar\, a Golden Globe\, an Emmy nomination and five Top 10 singles. Within a year of the first album’s release\, Cross was keeping company with music royalty like Burt Bacharach and Carole Bayer Sager and through that collaboration won an Oscar for “Arthur’s Theme\,” the theme song for the movie Arthur. With his 1983 release\, Another Page\, Cross was again in the Top 10 with the singles “Alright” and “Think of Laura.” \nHis song\, “Swept Away\,” composed for the hit television series\, Growing Pains\, was nominated for an Emmy in 1988. His creative flame continues to burn brighter than ever\, and 12 albums since 1980 demonstrate not only are his first fans listening enthusiastically\, but a new generation is discovering his music. Cross is rewarding them all with ever more richly-crafted melodies and elegant guitar work as featured in his latest work\, Take Me As I Am (2018). \nAll in all\, it’s been quite a ride\, one that’s taken Cross from his early days in Texas where he once served as a drum tech for Ginger Baker\, bought gear from Jimmy Page\, played lead guitar for Deep Purple on a night when Ritchie Blackmore fell ill\, among other unique experiences; to his current role as an ever-evolving musician touring the world. A box set commemorating his multi-decade long career will be released in 2020.
