DESCRIPTION:ABOUT THE PRODUCTION: \n\nMarshall Charloff & Purple xPeRIeNCE is the most celebrated tribute to Prince in the world. The group was co-founded by Marshall and Matt “Doctor” Fink (keyboardist from Prince & The Revolution) in 2011\, an era where Prince closely monitored the use of his art. Their vision was to deliver Prince’s music on the highest level\, played live and untracked by skilled musicians\,\nwhile paying respectful visual homage through costuming and likeness. Immediately met with success and adoration from discerning Prince devotees\, the band has now been touring for over a decade\, nationwide and internationally\, and has performed for over 500\,000 fans. In 2019\, they were officially licensed by the Prince Estate\, and in 2021\, Marshall Charloff & The Purple xPeRIeNCE were selected by the US Department of State to be featured in the USA Pavilion of the World Expo in Dubai. The band continues to hold the unique distinction of playing the show 100% live\, completely untracked–paying true homage to the greatest musician of our time–Prince–with real musicianship. \n  \nMARSHALL CHARLOFF AS PRINCE: \n \nMinneapolis-native Marshall was raised in the epicenter of 1980’s music production\, and cut his musical teeth working with Superproducers John Fields and Steven “Funkytown” Greenberg. At\nage 19\, Marshall\, like Prince\, was discovered and signed by producer Pepe Willie. Marshall is featured on 94 East albums with Prince\, where he plays guitar and Prince is on vocals. A multi-instrumentalist\, composer\, and producer in his own right\, Marshall has written for\, produced\, and recorded for the multi-Platinum and Grammy award-winning Commodores and for Rock & Roll Hall of Fame’s Little Anthony & The Imperials. Marshall’s second original album\, “Unperfect” achieved the distinction of “Top 100 Albums of 2020” on global smooth jazz charts.\nMarshall has also played keys for the Atlanta Rhythm Section\, and has played bass guitar with Bobby “Z”\, Matt “Dr. Fink”\, and Andre Cymone (all Prince alumni players).\nIn addition to his work with The Purple xPeRIeNCE\, Marshall has had the honor of fronting 25 of the finest symphonies in North America\, performing the music of Prince to great acclaim. He has\nbeen the feature of two full-length PBS Broadcasts; fronting the Detroit Symphony Orchestra\, and fronting The Purple xPeRIeNCE in the iconic Red Rocks Amphitheater in Morrison\,\nColorado.\nMarshall completed a Las Vegas residency\, where he headlined starring in “Purple Piano: The World’s Only One-Man Tribute to Prince”–a highly-engaging show in the style of Prince’s final\ntour\, “Piano and a Microphone”. DESCRIPTION:The First Friday concerts will take place outside The Stage Door on Putnam Street\, creating the perfect ambiance for a Friday night out. Audiences are encouraged to bring their own lawn chairs and enjoy the music in a relaxed\, open-air setting. Each show begins at 6:00 p.m.\, so be sure to arrive early to secure your spot and soak in the festive atmosphere!  \nLex Bauman is a mix of classic cool and fun modern power pop. Lex started playing guitar at a very young age.  He immediately found his purpose in the sound and feel of the instrument.  \nHe began playing live shows with professional bands around the age of 10. In 2020\, when the world stopped\,  Lex doubled down on his commitment to music. He learned to write and record as well as putting in countless hours on guitar practice and\, seeing where his life was headed\, began working on his vocal skills.  As the world opened back up\, Lex began headlining his own shows and opening for national acts. Since\, he has entertained countless people and always puts on an amazing live show.  In 2023\, Lex began working on his biggest project to date. He enlisted Tuk Smith to co–write and produce his EP\, While We’re Still Young.  The EP is an explosion of power pop. With amazing melodies\, huge harmonies\, catchy lyrics and driving guitar hooks\, it will put you in mind of Avril Lavigne\, Cheap Trick or a rock n roll Taylor Swift.  GUNS N ROS  While We’re Still Young (the single) was released in January of 2024 and the EP of the same name will be released in the spring of 2024.

DESCRIPTION:Christopher Cross burst onto the music scene with his 1980 self-titled debut album\, winning five Grammy Awards\, including—for the first time in Grammy history—the “Big Four” most prestigious awards: Record of the Year (for the single “Sailing”)\, Album of the Year\, Song of the Year (also “Sailing”)\, and Best New Artist. \nIn a career spanning over five decades\, Cross has sold over 10 million albums. His music has garnered five Grammys\, an Oscar\, a Golden Globe\, an Emmy nomination and five Top 10 singles. Within a year of the first album’s release\, Cross was keeping company with music royalty like Burt Bacharach and Carole Bayer Sager and through that collaboration won an Oscar for “Arthur’s Theme\,” the theme song for the movie Arthur. With his 1983 release\, Another Page\, Cross was again in the Top 10 with the singles “Alright” and “Think of Laura.” \nHis song\, “Swept Away\,” composed for the hit television series\, Growing Pains\, was nominated for an Emmy in 1988. His creative flame continues to burn brighter than ever\, and 12 albums since 1980 demonstrate not only are his first fans listening enthusiastically\, but a new generation is discovering his music. Cross is rewarding them all with ever more richly-crafted melodies and elegant guitar work as featured in his latest work\, Take Me As I Am (2018). \nAll in all\, it’s been quite a ride\, one that’s taken Cross from his early days in Texas where he once served as a drum tech for Ginger Baker\, bought gear from Jimmy Page\, played lead guitar for Deep Purple on a night when Ritchie Blackmore fell ill\, among other unique experiences; to his current role as an ever-evolving musician touring the world. There will be five opportunities to see this show that showcases a mix of both professional talent from across the country and the Mid- Ohio Valley. \nWritten in 1968 and featuring lyrics by Tim Rice and music by Andrew Lloyd-Webber\, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat features iconic pop and musical theatre tunes known around the world\, such as Any Dream Will Do\, Close Every Door\, and Go Go Go Joseph. The musical tells the journey of Joseph\, son of Jacob and one of twelve brothers\, and his coat of many colors. Based on the Bible’s Book of Genesis and originating from a cantata written for a school choir\, Joseph is a much-loved family classic. A lively and colorful journey from Canaan to Egypt\, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat follows the rags to riches story of Joseph\, his 11 brothers\, their wives\, the people they encounter\, and the coat of many colors. \n  \n  \n  \n  \nTim Rice has worked in music\, theatre\, and films since 1965 when he met Andrew Lloyd Webber\, a fellow struggling songwriter. Rather than pursue Tim’s ambitions to write rock or pop songs they turned their attention to Andrew’s obsession – musical theatre. Their first collaboration was based on the life of Dr. Thomas Barnardo\, the Victorian philanthropist\, The Likes of Us. Their next three works together were much more successful – Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat\, Jesus Christ Superstar and Evita. \n  \nTim has since worked with other distinguished popular composers such as Elton John (The Lion King\, Aida)\, Alan Menken (Aladdin\, King David\, Beauty and the Beast)\, Björn Ulvaeus and Benny Andersson (Chess)\, and Stuart Brayson (From Here to Eternity). He has also written with Freddie Mercury\, Burt Bacharach and Rick Wakeman among others. \nTim founded his own cricket team in 1973\, which has now played over 750 matches\, and was president of MCC\, founded in 1789\, in 2002. He crops up here and there in all branches of the media\, drawing on his extensive knowledge of the history of popular music. \nAs an EGOT\, he is one of only 17 people in the world to have won an Emmy\, Grammy\, Oscar and Tony award\, was knighted by HM Queen Elizabeth II in 1994\, and is the proud owner of a boxer dog and two dozen chickens. \n  \nAndrew Lloyd Webber has composed the scores of some of the world’s most famous musicals. From Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat (1969) to Cinderella (2021)\, his work has been consistently seen on world stages. Before the COVID pandemic hit\, Lloyd Webber had shows continually running in the West End for 48 years and on Broadway for 41. When Sunset Boulevard joined School Of Rock\, CATS and The Phantom Of the Opera\, he equalled Rodgers & Hammerstein’s record of four shows running simultaneously on Broadway. He is one of the select group of artists with EGOT status\, having received Emmy\, Grammy\, Oscar and Tony Awards. \nLloyd Webber owns seven London theatres\, including the iconic London Palladium and Theatre Royal\, Drury Lane. Over the past three years the latter has been completely restored and renovated at a cost of over £60 million. It is one of the biggest projects ever undertaken by a private theatre owner in recent times. His mantra that every penny of profit made from his theatres is ploughed back into the buildings has meant that considerable work has been undertaken across his theatre portfolio during the pandemic\, including the complete remodelling and reseating of the Gillian Lynne. \nLloyd Webber is passionate about the importance of musical education and diversity in the arts. The Andrew Lloyd Webber Foundation provides 30 performing arts scholarships every year for talented students with financial need and supports a range of projects such as the Music In Secondary School Trust and commissioning research into diversity in theatre. \nAndrew Lloyd Webber was knighted in 1992 and created an honorary life peer in 1997. Rooted in cosmic alt-country\, roadhouse rock & roll\, witchy-woman psychedelia\, and amplified Americana\, it’s a vintage sound for the modern world\, glued together by a singer/songwriter who’s played everything from dive bars to arenas. \nWith Turn Me Loose\, she leans into the rootsy textures that have always underscored her music. Laced with pedal steel\, Telecaster twang\, and Gibson grit\, the album embraces the grey areas between genre and generation\, with Perley breathing new life into her 1960s and ’70s influences. On March 21st\, 2024\, the Dirt Band will kick off the first leg of their last traditionally scheduled gigs\, ALL THE GOOD TIMES: The Farewell Tour. \nThis isn’t goodbye forever\, but it will be the last fans see of multi-city runs and long bus rides. These special shows will celebrate the music created by the legendary\, yet ever-evolving NGDB. Many veteran bands trade on nostalgia\, on replication of past glories\, and on recycled emotions from younger\, more carefree days. The Nitty Gritty Dirt Band trades on a mix of reimagined classics and compelling newer works. The group formed in 1966 as a Long Beach\, California jug band\, scored its first charting single in 1967\, and embarked on a selfpropelled ride through folk\, country\, rock ‘n’ roll\, pop\, blue- grass\, and the amalgam now known as “Americana.” \nThe first major hit came in 1971 with the epic “Mr. Bojangles\,” which\, along with insistent support from banjo master Earl Scruggs\, opened doors in Nashville. Behind those doors were Earl Scruggs\, Roy Acuff\, Doc Watson\, Mother Maybelle Carter\, Jimmy Martin\, and others who would collaborate on a multi-artist\, multi-generational\, three-disc 1972 masterpiece: Will the Circle Be Unbroken went triple Platinum\, spawned two later volumes\, and wound up in the Grammy Hall of Fame. \nWas this a cutting-edge combo or a group of revivalists? Was the goal rebellion or musical piety? Yes\, to all these things. In the 1980s\, the Dirt Band reeled off 15 straight Top 10 country hits\, including chart-toppers “Long Hard Road (The Sharecropper’s Dream)\,” “Modern Day Romance\,” and “Fishin’ in the Dark” (co-written by Jim Photoglo\, who would join the band in the second decade of the new century). \n1989 brought a second Circle album\, this one featuring singer-songwriter talents including John Prine\, Rosanne Cash\, and John Hiatt and garnering two Grammy awards for the band (it later won another\, for a collaboration with Earl Scruggs and other fine folks). Circle II also won the Country Music Association’s Album of the Year prize. Circle III was released in 2003\, featuring collaborations with Johnny Cash\, Dwight Yoakam\, Emmylou Harris\, Taj Mahal\, and more. \nThroughout the group’s lifetime\, personnel has changed\, with each change resulting in positive steps forward\, new ways of playing the old songs\, and renewed enthusiasm for writing and recording fresh material. The latest Dirt Band lineup is expanded to six members for the first time since 1968. Today’s group consists of founding member Jeff Hanna\, harp master Jimmie Fadden (who joined in 1966)\, and soulful-voiced Bob Carpenter\, who has more than 40 years of service in the ensemble. Those veterans are now joined by singer-songwriter-bass man Jim Photoglo\, fiddle and mandolin wizard Ross Holmes\, and Hanna’s son\, the preternaturally talented singer and guitarist Jaime Hanna. \nBlood harmony\, thrilling instrumental flights\, undeniable stage chemistry…these things are part of each Dirt Band show\, just as they are part of Dirt Does Dylan\, the first recording from the reconfigured\, six-strong group released in 2022. Produced by Ray Kennedy and Jeff Hanna\, it’s a remarkable ride through some of the most impactful songs of the past century\, penned by Bob Dylan and taken for a blue highway spin by a great American band\, with help from genius-level contemporary artists like Jason Isbell and The War and Treaty. This will be an evening of great music and an informal chat as Nissman shares the music and stories of some of her favorite composers. \nHailed as “one of the last pianists in the grand Romantic tradition of Liszt\, Rachmaninoff\, and Rubinstein\,” Nissman continues the grand bravura tradition of romantic pianism. Recognized as an authority on the music of Franz Liszt\, her 2 DVD set\, Franz Liszt: Portrait of the Man & his Masterwork- The Sonata in B minor with Michael York as the voice of Liszt and a stellar cast of his contemporaries has recently been released. Her recordings of Prokofiev\, Bartók\, and Ginastera are considered “definitive\,” and she has garnered praise for her series of recordings of nineteenth-century composers: Beethoven\, Chopin\, Liszt\, Schumann\, Brahms\, and also Rachmaninoff. All these recordings are now available on Nissman’s new label\, Three Oranges Recordings. \nNissman’s international career was personally launched by Eugene Ormandy\, who had previously engaged her as a soloist with the Philadelphia Orchestra. She has performed with the leading orchestras of Europe and America. She has also worked with some of the major conductors of our time\, including Ormandy\, Riccardo Muti\, Stanislaw Skrowaczewski\, and Leonard Slatkin. Nissman was inducted into the West Virginia Music Hall of Fame’s class of 2023. \nThe series\, funded by the Frederica G. It was a\nwarm summer afternoon. It started as a quiet melody on ukulele and nylon string guitar\, but when we got to the\nstudio it became something much more powerful. It’s a song about the times when the parts of ourselves that we\ntry to keep hidden rise to the surface and we have no choice but to ride the wave. Sometimes that means doing\nyour own thing to figure it out so you can emerge stronger on the other side. It’s not about the end of a relationship\,\nbut rather a moment of self reflection and a promise to keep showing up even when things get tough. Once Daniel\nplayed the opening riff on piano I knew it had to open the album. I’m always seeking to push myself into new sonic\nterritory\, and this song gave me permission to not hold back.\nThe seventh album from Sarah Jarosz finds the highly decorated songwriter at the apex of change. A Texas native\,\nshe’s spent most of her adult life living in New York City\, but shortly before writing the album Jarosz left her adopted\nhome to join her soon-to-be husband in Nashville\, TN. The geographic shake-up led to a sonic one as well for\nPolaroid Lovers. For the first time in her career she opened herself up to collaborators\, leading to writing sessions\nwith Daniel Tashian\, Ruston Kelly and Natalie Hemby. The creative reorganization of her writing process evolved to\ninclude a much richer and more electric sound in the studio and being in Nashville meant access to a world of hot\nshot players. Along with layering in such\ndelicately crafted details as otherworldly textures and luminous synth tones\, Jarosz and Tashian forged the album’s\nsingular sound by foregrounding her spirited performance on octave mandolin. “Out of everything I play\, the octave\nmandolin is definitely my soulmate\,” says Jarosz\, who first took up mandolin at age nine\, quickly gained major\nacclaim in the bluegrass world\, and also plays guitar and banjo throughout Polaroid Lovers. “I started playing it when\nI was 16\, and that’s when I started writing songs that truly felt like me — there’s something about the tonality that\nreally lets my voice shine through.”\nWith her co-writers on Polaroid Lovers also including artists like Ruston Kelly\, Natalie Hemby\, and Sarah Buxton as\nwell as heavy-hitters like Jon Randall (Miranda Lambert\, Emmylou Harris) and Gordie Sampson (Willie Nelson\, Trisha\nYearwood)\, Jarosz opens the album on “Jealous Moon”: a gloriously soaring and exquisitely nuanced track that\ninstantly sweeps the listener up in its bristling emotionality. “That song is about the parts of ourselves that we try to\nkeep hidden\, and the moments when they rise to the surface and we just have to ride the wave\,” says Jarosz\, who\nco-wrote “Jealous Moon” with Tashian on a trip to his family’s summer house in Monteagle\, Tennessee. “Daniel and\nI call it our little Monteagle song that could — it started off with me playing ukulele and him playing nylon-string\nguitar on the porch\, then blossomed into this very powerful song that knocked me off my feet.”\nNext\, on “When the Lights Go Out\,” Jarosz shares the sweetly lilting reverie that gave the album its title (from the\nfirst verse: “In a dream we were Polaroid lovers/In the deep where the edges don’t lie”). “I wrote that song with Jon\nRandall and Gordie Sampson\, who suggested we try something in a 6/8 time signature — which is such a simple\nidea\, but took us in a direction I might never have gone otherwise\,” she says. “To me the lyrics are a way of asking\nsomeone you’re intrigued by\, ‘Who are you when all the shine and attention isn’t on you anymore? Who are you\nreally?'” Another track co-written with Randall\, “Runaway Train” kicks the album into high gear as Jarosz serves up a\nbright and soulful love song built on a wildly sing-along-ready chorus (“You’ve got a heart like a runaway\ntrain/Screaming down the mountainside/Burning like a fever that you can’t contain/Humming like the 405”).\n“Coming out of the pandemic and playing shows again\, I realized that a lot of the more uptempo songs in my set\nwere covers\,” she says. “I wanted to write a love song that would give people that joyful feeling\, and Jon and I had\nso much fun playing with all those images of California and Colorado and Texas Hill Country\, which is where I grew\nup.”\nOne of the most poignant moments on Polaroid Lovers\, “Columbus & 89th” drifts into a dreamlike beauty as Jarosz\nreflects on the ineffable heartache of leaving her longtime home of New York City back in 2020. “New York signified\nthis childhood dream that I’d had for so long\, so moving to Nashville was like turning the page from youth to\nadulthood\,” she says. “‘Columbus & 89th’ ended up just pouring out of me once Daniel and I started working on it —\nthere was so much nostalgia and melancholy that I needed to process\, and now I still tear up whenever I hear it. As a\nsongwriter my main goal is to tell the truth about my experience\, and I think the fact that that song makes me so\nemotional means that I was tapping into real feeling.” Written on the same trip that yielded “Columbus & 89th” (a\njourney to Alabama’s Orange Beach with Tashian’s family)\, “Days Can Turn Around” unfolds as a gently swaying folk\nsong threaded with warmly delivered instruction for living well no matter what the circumstances (e.g.\, “Never turn\ndown cold champagne/Don’t change your plans for a little rain”). “Both of those songs have similar themes of\nthinking back and looking forward\, but trying your best to be in the moment\,” says Jarosz. “With ‘Days Can Turn\nAround\,’ I wanted to talk about all those little gems of wisdom you hear from you parents that end up taking on a\nwhole new meaning when you finally become an adult.”\nAs Jarosz reveals\, her very first co-writing session with Tashian helped draw out the deep-rooted confidence that\ninformed all of the album’s creation. “That first day Daniel and I worked together we wrote a song called ‘Take the\nHigh Road\,’ which is about taking the time to really know yourself and get comfortable in your own skin\, even if it\nmight take a little longer to get to where you want to be\,” she says. “There was something so beautiful about that\nbeing the first song we wrote for this album — it gave me the push I needed to not be afraid\, to move beyond the\nboundaries and explore new sounds.” A widely beloved musician whose past efforts include teaming up with fellow\nsinger/songwriters Sara Watkins and Aoife O’Donovan to form the Grammy Award-winning trio I’m With Her — as\nwell as appearing on albums by iconic artists like David Crosby and Amy Ray of Indigo Girls — Jarosz derived a\nparticularly profound sense of purpose from the highly collaborative process behind Polaroid Lovers. “Maybe more\nthan any record I’ve ever made\, I felt so present and hyper-emotional with this album because I believed in it so\nmuch\,” she says. “It was so joyful to work with all these writers and musicians\, and I think that joy really comes\nthrough.”\nLooking back on the making of Polaroid Lovers\, Jarosz notes that shaking up her process ultimately left her eager to\nfurther expand her creative horizons. “It was a big step for me to reach out to Daniel\, but in the end it showed me\nhow important it is to keep taking thoughtful chances\,” she says. “This whole album reminded me that I never want\nto play it safe — if anything\, I want there to always be that element of being a little scared\, because that means I’m\ntaking a risk. In a way that’s what’s so wonderful about art: if you’re lucky\, you never reach the finish line. You just\nkeep searching and chiseling away at the stone\, and putting everything you can into making something that tells the\ntruth but hopefully leaves space for others to find meaning too.” \n  \nThe Ballroom Thieves \nEarly in 2020\, an article was released declaring that the music industry needed more happy songs. As Martin\nEarley and Calin Peters recall\, they laughed while reading it\, knowing that their work as The Ballroom Thieves\nexplores the spirit of that paradigm. Well\, sort of…they’re not interested in easily defined worldviews.\n“We read that article and thought\, ‘how are we supposed to write happy songs right now?'” says Earley. “We\ndon’t write happy songs\, but this time we decided to try something new by pairing optimistic sounding music with\ndark lyrics. If the listener is not a lyrics person\, they might not notice.”\nThe Ballroom Thieves’ fourth album\, Clouds\, is a song cycle born of mixed experiences and fueled by the power\nof imagination. The album is a lush meditation on longing to return to touring – to see different sunsets and cities.\nBut\, it’s also a reflection of its difficulties\, e.g.\, insomnia brought on by sleeping in different hotel rooms every\nnight. After a major car accident and the departure of a band member\, the duo has taken the duality of all these\nexperiences and translated them into song.\n“We miss exploring the country\,” says Peters. “The road offers us structure and it gives us something to write\nabout. These past two years we learned just how much we love and need it.”\nAs they leaned into their wanderlust\, themes became apparent – the idea of a life spent in motion (“Shine”)\, the\npower of the storm representing a relationship transformed into heartbreak (“The Lightning”)\, Man’s ceaseless\ndegradation of resources and Nature’s inevitable fury (“Worldender”)\, and Harry Styles (“Harry Styles”)\, who\nshould be considered a force of Nature as far as Peters and Earley are concerned. “We were sitting around our\nwoodstove\, and Callie looked over at me and said\, ‘I think I’m in love with Harry Styles\,'” Earley recalls. “And my\nfirst thought was\, ‘wait a minute\, I love Harry Styles! You can’t have him!’”\nClouds became an opportunity for the band to mine the challenges of the past three years for creative inspiration.\n“We were able to step away from a lot of the big three-part harmonies and for the first time we recorded most of\nthe album live\,” says Earley. “We try to let change inspire us\, even when it comes with difficulty.”\nIt’s an artistic statement that doubles as a life mission. The pair both emphasize that they’ve learned to navigate\ncomplicated situations\, including their struggles with depression\, which often colors their songs. If they can impart\nanything to listeners\, it’s that talking about mental health is not a weakness—and that sharing any of life’s trials\ncan be a source of strength.\n“There’s so much material out there on fighting mental illnesses and keeping our heads up but I think it’s also\njust important to know that it’s okay to be affected. Over the course of her acclaimed career\, Carpenter has sold over 16 million records.
