Marketing Director Peoples Bank Theatre

The Peoples Bank Theatre is a 944 seat historic theatre located in lovely downtown Marietta, Ohio. The theatre attracts over 30,000 patrons annually and presents almost 100 events a year. We are seeking an experienced Marketing Director to manage and implement the theatre’s institutional and event marketing plan and budget. This position is salaried in the range of $42-$47,000 based on proven business skill and experience.

The Marketing Director will be responsible for maintaining the theatre’s brand identity, and implementing the theatre’s marketing plan through promotion, publicity, and advertising. The Marketing Director will be responsible for contacts and communication with local and regional media. Duties include writing press releases, PSA’s and e-mails for distribution, designing and placing all advertising for media distribution, promotion of special events, memberships, and sponsorships, and submitting campaigns to the Executive Director and Theatre Manager for approval, including budgets and media mix plans.  The Marketing Director will manage the theatre’s website, including the integration of Spektrix ticketing system and patron and donor database management. The ideal candidate must possess excellent writing, communication, people, and presentation skills, and present a positive professional image. The Marketing Director will work with the Talent Buyer to coordinate with artist’s marketing team with an emphasis on social media marketing, e-mail marketing, and SEO/SEM, while also utilizing targeted direct mail, fliers, posters, and other traditional media tools.

Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, communication, design and other related fields or at least five years previous marketing and/or media experience in a performing arts center and/or conference or convention center or the equivalent combination of education and experience in a similar organization. An advanced graduate degree in business, marketing, communications, design or, other related field, preferred. Experience with Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, Lightroom, and Illustrator, computer database management skills, experience with and knowledge of social media platforms, experience with email marketing platforms and best practices, ability to work evenings and weekends, as needed, ability to travel the region (approximately a 90-minute radius) to promote the theatre.
