Written in 1968 and featuring lyrics by Tim Rice and music by Andrew Lloyd-Webber, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat features iconic pop and musical theatre tunes known around the world, such as Any Dream Will Do, Close Every Door, and Go Go Go Joseph. The musical tells the journey of Joseph, son of Jacob and one of twelve brothers, and his coat of many colors. Based on the Bible’s Book of Genesis and originating from a cantata written for a school choir, Joseph is a much-loved family classic. A lively and colorful journey from Canaan to Egypt, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat follows the rags to riches story of Joseph, his 11 brothers, their wives, the people they encounter, and the coat of many colors.
Based on the success of the 2022 virtual auditions created during Covid, the directors are again opting for Virtual Auditions. Audition reviews open on January 19th and closes on February 23rd at midnight. Callbacks: Callbacks for primary roles and ensemble will be remote, ongoing, and dealt with in the order in which they are received. David Tadlock, the Musical Director, and Jill Ruff, the Choreographer, will send instructions, sheet music, and musical accompaniments for participants to prepare their pieces. Memorization is not necessary.
Callback music will be specifically from the show in the correct key. Dance videos will also be requested from dancers. If singers and dancers have existing videos, or an established website, those will be acceptable—please supply us with links

As part of this show we are casting a 20-30 voice Youth treble choir of local aspiring singers and actors. We are looking for children mainly between 4th and 8th grades (ages 9-14 approximately). The children will appear on-stage in many scenes throughout the show.
Auditions will take place at Marietta Dance Academy, located at 108 Front Street in Marietta, on Saturday, February 10th from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00m p.m. and Sunday, February 11th from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.
The production period will be very short culminating in 5 performances between June 20th and 23rd.
There is no need to prepare a song ahead of time. All materials will be taught and provided at the audition. You will be singing and moving as part of your audition, so please dress accordingly. No formal dance training is required.

With the exception of children, it is our intention to pay every member of the cast. Their gratuity will be commensurate with their time commitment and the demands of their roles.
In exceptional circumstances, board and lodging will be provided if needed.
We advise all cast members, chorus, and backstage technical crew members be fully vaccinated and boosted by the beginning of the rehearsal period.
