Anthony Mossburg

Eight years.

Four original albums.

Thousands of shows around the country.

Three years after picking up a guitar in a college dorm room, Anthony Mossburg left the stability of a full-time job to chase after the only thing that made him feel alive; music.

What followed over the next eight years was a series of accolades, achievements, risks, near-misses, and setbacks that indefinitely shaped him as an artist and a person. With several bootstrap tours and three independent albums under his belt, Anthony is now living in Columbus, Ohio, and is headlining shows around the country.

His breakthrough song, “Whiskey and Wine”, introduced a new sound to his avid fanbase, and shed a light into his evolution as an artist. The hard work and risks didn’t go unnoticed. Early in 2015, the song broke into the Top 10 on coveted iTunes Singer/Songwriter category.

Now, he is squaring his sights on introducing his soulful voice, gutsy lyrics, and melodic tones into a new direction that will push his creative talent like never before. This is just the beginning.

Joshua Lee

After 14 years of fifteen-passenger vans, tour buses, and side man gigs, Joshua Lee left Nashville with his young family and headed to West Virginia, trading screaming fans for screaming kids. After a difficult transition, Lee nearly left the music life behind entirely, but he began to write again and in doing so found his own musical voice. In his old life, Lee might have sought collaborators to start a band, but having difficulty finding enough like-minded musicians, he focused instead on discovering himself as a solo artist, something he’d never tried before. Playing solo shows in the Ohio Valley area led to a new confidence in his ability as a singer-songwriter and to a new group of musical collaborators.

On his debut EP, Promise Land (June 2017), Joshua wrestles with questions of loss and cautiously reaches for hope rather than despair. Recorded mostly at home, and self-produced along with Trae Gunter (Randy Montana, Jacob Thomas Jr.), he finds himself searching for his own sound by mining the territories of folk rock and heartland rock and blending in synths and ambient guitars. Hints of The National supplement more traditional song forms in the spirit of Ryan Adams and Tom Petty.

Now based in Marietta, Ohio, Joshua Lee is performing solo and full band in the Mid-Ohio Valley region as he’s beginning work on his next project.

Before & After the concert: First Settlement Festival

The year 2018 marked Marietta’s 230th birthday. The Galley was participating in Marietta Main Street’s First Friday (Marietta’s Birthday Party) but The Adelphia wanted to get involved in a big way as well. The First Settlement Festival was born.

The main idea behind the First Settlement Festival is to invite people downtown to celebrate all that Historic Marietta has to offer. Seeing busking bands gives Marietta an Austin or Seattle feel, and it also draws people into our amazing selection of boutique shops. Meanwhile, all-day entertainment is hosted on The Adelphia main stage, with entertainment starting at noon and continuing all the way to Midnight.
