Stop in during downtown Marietta’s First Friday festivities for a FREE behind-the-scenes tour of Peoples Bank Theatre! Originally known as the Hippodrome in 1919 and later as the Colony Theatre, our newly renovated historic theatre reopened for performances in January 2016. Tours during First Friday, July 7 will start at 5:00 p.m., with the final tours of the evening starting at 8 p.m.
Explore backstage. Listen for the echoes of voices long gone. And feel the spine-tingling anticipation as you stand on the stage and imagine a thousand people watching in the audience and the sound of their applause.
Learn about the history of the building, its notable owners, and see parts of the theatre that are rarely accessible to the general public.
Bring a camera and comfortable walking shoes. We’ll be climbing stairs to the projection booth at the top of the house and descending below the stage on this tour.
