On Friday, September 9, as the Ohio River Sternwheel Festival weekend gets into full swing, Peoples Bank Theatre will host an open house. Stop by the theatre and enjoy free popcorn, a slideshow on the big screen showcasing the theatre’s restoration, discounted prices on Spotlight Series tickets, drinks and concessions.
RCSO Halloween Concert
Maestro Turizziani has stirred up a great program of holiday-themed music, starting with The Noon Witch, Op. 108, by Antonin Dvorak, and including the Danse Macabre, by Camille Saint-Saëns, Symphony No. 8 (Unfinished) by Franz Schubert, and Violin Concerto No. 1 by Max Bruch. The RCSO will also feature the talents of Christina Bouey as violin soloist.
A Musical Salute to Randy Travis
On September 16, 1986, country music legend Randy Travis performed at the Colony Theatre in Marietta, Ohio, just as his career was taking off. Almost 30 years later on Thursday September 15, 2016, at 7:30 p.m., Travis will return to the stage of the present-day Peoples Bank Theatre. Travis will not be performing, due to a stroke he suffered three years ago, but he will make an appearance to be honored and enjoy the show.
